There have been controversial vehicles over the years, but none have raised eyebrows like the Tesla Cybertruck. Its stainless steel body, angular styling, and luxury price tag have made it a polarizing model with few people on the fence about how they feel. What’s New for the 2025 Tesla Cybertruck
The Tesla Cybertruck debuted in 2024 and gained a few updates after its release, but it enters the 2025 model year without significant changes. That said, Tesla is known for developing and releasing features between model years, so there’s a good chance the Cybertruck gains features before the 2026 calendar year rolls around.
Design
Remember that truck you drew in elementary school that landed on the refrigerator door for a while? Refine that a bit, and you have most of the basic elements of the Cybertruck’s design. It features flat or near-flat stainless steel body panels and angular styling that have made it a love-it or hate-it vehicle for most people.
Powertrain
Tesla doesn’t give powertrain specifications like most other automakers, but it does offer range and performance numbers. The base truck has two electric motors, all-wheel drive a 325-mile driving range, and a 4.1-second zero-60-mph time. The more powerful Cyberbeast trim offers 301 miles of range and a 2.6-second zero-60-mph time. Both trims can tow up to 11,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Interior
Tesla interiors are known for their sparse styling and tech-heavy controls, and the Cybertruck is no different. It seats five people on standard synthetic leather upholstery. Heated and ventilated front seats are standard, along with a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.
Technology
A massive 18.5-inch touchscreen is standard, along with a 9.4-inch rear touchscreen. The front display screen handles all vehicle controls and functions, including climate, lighting, audio, and more. Tesla equips a 15-speaker stereo, SiriusXM radio, voice commands, navigation, wireless charging, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more. The truck’s infotainment interface is responsive and has flashy graphics, but there’s a learning curve involved with the touch-only controls.
Safety
The Cybertruck hasn’t received complete crash testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but it comes with a generous number of advanced safety features. They include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward and side collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system, automatic wipers, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, and more. Tesla also offers an advanced hands-free driving system for a steep upfront price.
Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Tesla Cybertruck starts at $72,490 for the base all-wheel drive (AWD) trim. The range-topping Cyberbeast configuration starts at $99,990.
