Lotus is a brand with a long history of building exciting, lightweight sports cars. The automaker continues this tradition with the Emira, a sleek mid-engined sports car that builds on the legacy of the Elise, Exige, and Evora. The Emira is set to be the last gasoline-powered Lotus ever.

What’s New for the 2025 Lotus Emira
The Emira was just introduced in the United States for the 2024 model year. The most notable change for 2025 is a second engine option. Supplied by technical partner Mercedes-AMG, the new 360-horsepower turbocharged engine makes the Emira the most powerful four-cylinder Lotus of all time. This new four-cylinder is available only with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT), delivering fast and seamless shifts.
Design
Lotus brings supercar looks to the sports car segment, inheriting the “Carved by Air” philosophy from the Evija hypercar. The Emira is aerodynamically efficient, producing downforce without the use of active elements or big wings, ensuring outstanding grip and control in all conditions.
The Emira is available in 13 exterior colors, from Hethel Yellow to Zinc Grey. The optional Black Pack adds a two-tone treatment with gloss black roof, mirrors, cantrails, and clamshell elements. The 20-inch ultra-lightweight wheels come standard with a diamond-cut finish, with silver or black finishes available as options.
Powertrain
Lotus now offers two engines for the Emira, both mid-mounted behind the driver. The base engine is the new Mercedes-AMG-supplied 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 360 horsepower, paired to a DCT. A Toyota-derived supercharged V6 engine making 400 horsepower is also available. The V6 can be had with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. Two suspension choices are available, a road-focused “Touring” and a track-ready “Sports” suspension.

Interior
Inside, the Emira can be fitted with either Nappa leather or Alcantara upholstery, including an optional Alcantara headliner and steering wheel. Available only as a two-seater, the Emira does have impressive cargo space thanks to a parcel shelf behind the seats, storage under the front hood, and a luggage compartment behind the motor. For a bit of theater, drivers who choose the manual transmission can choose to expose the linkage.
Technology
Front and center in the cockpit is an intuitive 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Music lovers will find a 10-channel 560-Watt audio system, developed in partnership with the renowned British brand KEF.
Safety
Standard safety features on the 2025 Emira include parking sensors, a rear reversing camera, and LED headlights. When equipped with the Lotus Driver’s Pack, the Emira gets additional drive modes for the electronic stability control system.

Pricing and Release Date
At the time of this writing, pricing for the 2025 Lotus Emira starts at $99,900 for the First Edition V6 model. Pricing for the four-cylinder model has not yet been announced for the USA, but we expect prices to start around $80,000. The V6 models are currently available, and the four-cylinder model is expected later in 2025.
