What’s New for the 2025 Kia EV6

Kia has given the EV6 a refreshed exterior and larger batteries for additional driving range. Available trims will include the Light, Light Long Range, Wind, GT-Line, and GT trims. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard, and all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional.

Design

The 2025 EV6 is recognizable thanks to its redone headlights that have what Kia calls its “Star Map” lighting. These slimmer LED lights bring the design of the EV6 more into line with the rest of the Kia range. The overall length of the EV6 has grown by 0.6 inches which, Kia stated in its press release, gives the car a sportier stance when viewed in profile. Alloy wheel sizes range from 19 to 21 inches in diameter, depending on trim.

Powertrain

Serving as the standard drivetrain is a single electric motor connected to a 63.0-kWh battery that sends a total of 167 horsepower and 258 pounds-feet of torque to the rear wheels. This is the motivation behind the RWD-only Light trim level. New for the 2025 model year is a larger 84.0-kWh battery that provides a maximum of 319 miles of range in the Light Long Range, Wind, and GT-Line models. At its most potent, the top-of-the-line EV6 GT produces 641 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque when the GT driving mode is engaged. To keep the EV6 fully juiced, 800-volt DC fast charging is standard and has been configured to the North American Charging System (NACS).

Interior

The cabin of the EV6 is largely carryover, though Kia has made a point to enhance cabin quietness by the use of more sound deadening material. An electrically operated tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel is also newly standard. The center console has received a modest update, and every EV6 now comes with a D-shaped steering wheel.

Technology

Facing the driver is a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that comes standard with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging, five USB ports, and available Digital Key 2.0. This allows an EV6 owner access to music and video streaming, along with personalizing their vehicle display with colors and logos of their favorite NBA team.

Safety

Standard driver aids consist of Kia’s Advanced Driver Assistance-Systems (ADAS). Among other features, these include automatic emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, a rear-seat reminder system, rain-sensing wipers, safe exit warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
