The Hyundai Ioniq 6 was all-new for the 2023 model year and was the second vehicle in Hyundai’s new Ioniq electric-only lineup. It competes squarely with the BMW i4, Polestar 2, and Tesla Model 3. It’s priced competitively, and it holds its own in the range department. The 2025 Ioniq 6 has four trims, which allows you to find what works for you, whether it’s a budget buy, extended range, or bougie accents.

What’s New for the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6
Just two years into its lifecycle, the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 is essentially a carryover model, but it does get minor changes. A head-up display has been added to the top Limited trim, and the Digital Green exterior paint color has been dropped from production.
Design
With its new chess piece design strategy, Hyundai values vehicle function in the design process more than family resemblance. Therefore, other than the "pixel" design elements seen on various parts of the vehicle, the Ioniq 6 is unique in the Hyundai lineup. It has a single-curved aerodynamic profile, which delivers a very low drag coefficient of 0.22. This electric sedan comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, though 20s are standard on the upper two trims.
Powertrain
The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6's four trims offer a variety of powertrain and range options. The base SE Standard Range model is rear-wheel-drive (RWD) only and produces 149 horsepower and 240 miles of range. Leveling up to the SE adds range, horsepower, and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option. As a RWD model, it has 225 horsepower and 342 miles of range, and with dual motors and AWD, it delivers 320 horsepower and 316 miles of range. The SEL and Limited offer both RWD and AWD options, and while the horsepower is the same as the SE, range drops because of the bigger wheels and increased content. Those higher trims will deliver 291 and 270 miles of range for RWD and AWD models, respectively.

Interior
The interior of the 2025 Ioniq 6 is on the minimalist side, punctuated by a single screen that houses two digital displays. This midsize sedan seats five people, offering 34.7 inches of rear-seat legroom, which is more than all its competitors except the Model 3. While passenger space is generous, cargo space is a bit stingy at 11.2 cubic feet due to the sedan’s fastback design. Cloth seats are standard, and synthetic leather is available as you level up in trims. Heate and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof are available on select trims.
Technology
In addition to the two 12.3-inch screens housed in a single swath of glass, the 2025 Ioniq 6 boasts standard tech features such as wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual automatic climate control, Hyundai Bluelink+ connected car services, a Bluetooth connection that can support two devices simultaneously, SiriusXM Satellite radio with a three-month subscription, and LED headlights and taillights. Available tech upgrades include a Bose premium audio system, a head-up display, wireless phone charging, a second-row 110-v plug, 64-color ambient lighting, and the ability to use your phone as a key.
Safety
The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6 comes standard with several safety features, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and a safe-exit warning. Up-level safety tech includes remote smart park assist, blind-view monitor, 360-degree camera view, blind-spot collision avoidance, and parking collision avoidance. The 2025 Ioniq 6 scored a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), earning top marks in crash tests as well as crash-avoidance and mitigation. It also receives a 5-Star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Pricing and Release Date

Black and gray paints are a no-cost option, but the available red, white, and gold alternatives will add $500 to $1,000 depending on the color. With a simplified trim structure, the Ioniq 6 doesn’t have package options, as you simply get more content as you level up. Some accessories, such as all-season floor mats and cargo nets, are available and range from $30 to $235.
