Mercedes is taking a familiar approach to electric vehicles (EVs) by electrifying existing models. The EQB is an all-electric derivative of the GLB-Class SUV with punchy acceleration, an upscale interior, and easy-to-use tech features.

What’s New for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB
The 2024 model year is the EQB’s third on sale, and Mercedes gave it a light refresh to keep it competitive. Changes include updated exterior styling, improved safety tech, Plug and Charge functionality, and a revised infotainment interface.
Design
The EQB looks very similar to the gasoline-powered GLB, but Mercedes gave it a different grille and unique wheel designs. The somewhat boxy, upright SUV gets black lower body cladding and chrome accents, but its exterior is otherwise clean and uncluttered. The rear features a side-to-side light bar taillight system, and the side body lines curve upward behind the rear side windows.
Powertrain
Mercedes offers two powertrain choices for the all-electric EQB. The base EQB 250+ configuration comes with one electric motor making 188 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque and a 70.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack.
The middle powertrain, offered in the EQB 300, has two electric motors and the same battery pack, pushing output to 225 hp and 288 lb-ft of torque. The range-topping EQB 350 model boosts output from the dual-motor powertrain even further to 299 hp and 384 lb-ft.
The 2024 EQB features revised powertrain logic that improves acceleration for the top two configurations. But all versions have plenty of power for commuting and reaching highway speeds.

Interior
The EQB comes standard with synthetic leather upholstery and power front seats. Available interior features include genuine leather, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. Though it’s kind of quirky-looking from the outside, the SUV’s tall roof brings generous headroom inside, and there’s plenty of legroom in both rows. The EQB has a third-row seat, but it’s best reserved for kids, and only on shorter drives.
Technology
Mercedes equips a 10.25-inch touchscreen and 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster as standard on the 2024 EQB. The system runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and offers HD radio, navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, ambient lighting, voice commands, and more. Higher trims add wireless charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a Burmester audio system, and gesture control.
Safety
The EQB hasn’t been tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It gets plenty of standard safety tech, however.
Standard features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, parking sensors, a parking-assist system, and safe exit warnings. Available features include adaptive cruise with stop and go, traffic-sign recognition, a surround-view camera system, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and a head-up display.

Pricing and Release Date
Pricing for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB starts at $54,200 for the single-motor EQB 250+ base model. The midrange EQB 300 model starts at $58,150, and the top EQB 350 starts at $65,050. Buyers have a range of options to choose from that can push those prices significantly higher in some cases.
