2024 Jaguar I-Pace Pricing, Specs, and Release Date

by Chris Teague

The Jaguar I-Pace’s days are numbered, as Jaguar plans to discontinue it—along with nearly all of its lineup—after the 2024 model year. The sleek electric vehicle (EV) won design awards when new and offers a surprisingly engaging driving experience, but its high price and limited driving range have made it a tough sell in an increasingly crowded market.

What’s New for the 2024 Jaguar I-Pace

Though it’s on its way out, the I-Pace received a couple of notable changes for 2024. Jaguar updated the grille, giving it a “flatter” look, and made a heated steering wheel standard.

Design

The I-Pace won design awards when it was introduced. Its subtle curves and sculpted body wear some of Jaguar’s signature elements, but it’s lower and sleeker than the automaker’s other SUVs. It’s available with four wheel choices, ranging in size from 20 to 22 inches, and Jaguar offers exterior appearance options, including a black contrast roof and a chrome accent package.

Powertrain

The I-Pace is available with a single all-electric powertrain, with two motors and a 90-kilowatt-hour battery pack. Output lands at a healthy 394 horsepower and 512 pound-feet of torque, and reaches all four wheels through a single-speed automatic transmission. That power is good for a 4.5-second zero-60-mph time, and it makes the I-Pace feel sporty and lively in nearly all driving scenarios.

However, EPA-rated range is just 246 miles, which is far less than competing models from brands like Tesla. Using a DC fast charger, it takes around 40 minutes to hit an 80 percent charge. That’s also not great in the context of the competition.

2024 Jaguar I-Pace - Interior

Interior

Leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear outboard seats are standard on the 2024 I-Pace. While the interior is gorgeous, the rear seats can feel restrictive for taller adults, and the standard front sport seats can also start to feel restrictive on longer drives. Cargo space measures 25.3 cubic feet with the rear seats upright, which expands to 53.6 cubic feet when they are folded flat.

Technology

The I-Pace comes standard with a dual-touchscreen infotainment system that uses a 5.5-inch lower display and 10-inch upper screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, 15 speakers, HD radio, SiriusXM radio, multiple USB ports, and dual-zone automatic climate control are standard.

Safety

The new I-Pace hasn’t been crash-tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It has a generous list of standard safety features, however, including blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, driver-attention monitoring, automatic wipers, road-sign recognition, automatic high beams, parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control. Available tech includes a parking-assistance system, a rearview camera mirror, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera system.
