Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2015 HD Silverado 4x4  with the 6.0 gas motor. It has 218,000 miles on
it. I’ve kept up with oil changes religiously. Today I get in it and notice going
down the highway I’m only at 20 pounds of oil psi. Pull over, at ten psi at an
idle. Checked the oil & it’s full and clean as usual. Took it straight to the repair
shop. Please tell me this is a simple fix. I really can’t afford a rebuild. Did
everything I could to avoid it. It does not use oil between changes. Mobil 1
filter & 5W30 synthetic every 5,000 to 6,000. Please tell me my small block
apple pie & Chevrolet isn’t worn out.. ?

Thank you kindly for your response. I have my fingers crossed & am hoping proper maintenance will give me what I'm shooting for. Low repair cost & long term service. Please General Motors. Give me that great GM feeling.

GM engines have the infamous oil sender screen that can plug up and give a false low oil pressure reading. You can also use a mechanical gauge to see if your pressure really is that low. I see a lot of similar complaints here.
