1986 toyota 4runner sr5 rear window will not work
Ok my 86 4runner rear window will
not work at all iv done everything
checked the power bord its fine the
motor is fine. If i take the switch off
and put a tester light to it and ground
it it will work and iv check all the
wires and there fine none of them are
cut or anything could it be that the 2
switches for the rear window be bad
and need to be replaced ???
Possibly, my '86 4runner I got, the entire rear window assembly had to be cleaned, and then it worked fine. Clean the assembly, if that does not work, then you should probably replace the switches.
make sure the rear window wiper motor thinks the wiper arm is fully seated. theres several electrical safety's built into the window system so silly people didn't break the window. do the tag lights work? if not check the harness there sometimes it gets caught in the window mechanism. search the internet its usually a simple fix. if its the relay and your squeamish find some young local electronic whizz to replace the two internal relays. theres usually several people at the local flea market that can repair the Toyota relay on the cheap. find the guys repairing stereos and computers.
I had the top off and didn't put the right bolt back in the right hole it the window will not work. the switch is in the hole to hold top secure to truck the holes on the drivers side and maybe the second or third hole from the back
