2005 chrysler 300 will not start

Asked by mbelcher Mar 17, 2013 at 07:20 PM about the 2005 Chrysler 300 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I went to the store and came out and my car would not start.  I had one shop look at it and they said it was the started.  I never had any problems before with the starter or any signs.

Be sure your battery is healthy (date code will reveal), and clean both terminals with a garden hose, clean off any corrosion with a wirebrush, clean the ground lug that attaches to the chassis and engine- with solid power at your fingertips you ought to be alright.

Put a meter on the small wire on the starter. Turn the key to "Start" and see if you have 12 volts. If you have power there, you need a new starter. If you do not have power there, you need to find out why. Start by checking the fuses and relay.
