Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My check engine light came on not long after
starting car....there was no power reduction or loss
everything seems fine...what could cause that light

Hard to say without pulling code,s,but if engine is running normal, tempreture and drive,s ok,i would think it may be a oxygen sensor bad,

Could be any number of things that can turn on the light. Swing by a place like autozone and have the system code scanned, write them down and post them back here and someone will help you with further diagnostics.

Anything that effects the vehicles emission systems, turns the check engine light on.

Thank you all for your help...I'll def look into it!

Could be as simple as the gas cap not being tight as well. Definitely have the code checked though to be safe.
