if i am not mistaken they also came with a 3.1, so i would assume that would be a relatively easy and durable swap thier is the lq1 3.4 version of the 3.1 that put out 200ish hp, it was in a few cars in the mid 90s for the w body cars, might be a task to get to work, but would make a pretty killer beretta

Well your standard 2.2 is a manual, yeah? You're probably not going to want to go to a 3.1 automatic unless you want to do a whoooole lot of transmission work. I suggest you try and look for a 2.8DOHC engine. They're pretty generic, and fit in most decent sized cars. I've even heard of a guy putting a 350Corvette engine in his smoked out 'Rette. ;] That's best left for true grease monkies. Buutt, do what you will, eh? xD

I had a 96 v6 Beretta at one point. Previous owner made me want to punch him in the face because he put on aftermarket rims on but didn't have anything to get the bolts out with lol that shit sucked. Also didn't know he did an engine swap to probably a 95 3800 series one. I never got to find out the top speed because my sister somehow bent the front axle so at 118 or so the backend is swaying going uphill. Anyone know exactly how fast you could go with that motor?

Well I raced my buddies LS swapped Camaro and he said he pushed 150 and I was still behind him sooo probably 140-160 tops

Is it possible to put a 396 in my 92 chevy beretta and convert to rear wheel drive? This is a serious question
