Can i convert a supercharged transmission into a non-supercharged?
Well so i need to find a new transmission for my mom car and from what ive been told a supercharged transmission wont work with a non-supercharged engine how would go about converting this transmission if you can i need step by step so i dont have to put out more cash on another transmission
No such thing as a 'supercharged transmission'. A supercharger is a belt driven device that gives your intake in the engine positive pressure, forcing more air than the normal vacuum of a naturally aspirated car. Now swapping a transmission from a Regal GS, 3.8 Liter the supercharged version in to an LS, 3.8 I see no problem ..no 'conversion' necessary The 4T 65E transmission will be fine
The supercharged version comes with the HD tranny... only difference would be the differential and passenger side cv shaft. I think the diff cover on the side of the trans must be changed to. As far as putting the supercharged engine on a non-HD trans, there will be no physical differences.
the years must match 100% because. gears in trans are not the same and will pull a - c.e light and abs will shut down and omg if you have traction control
the 4T 65E transmission has 3 or 4 different valve bodies over the years so your ecm will have to be flashed
You could bolt a big honk'n blower to it. Seriously though blowers are for engines, not transmissions. You could install a shift kit in your trans to firm up the shifts.
