Melting clip in resistor,causes?

Not sure what you mean by clip but too much current draw will cause excessive heat.

Yes that is apparently what is taking place,my question is this.would blower be running hard enough to cause the red hot wire to overheat which caused the plug to melt.it was blowing good heat till that happened.now I'm searching for a replacement resistor mines the bigger 4×3 size one and most years after that 2002 went to a smaller size one.so still searching the junk yards.also what fuses protect the blower n resister.think I may have blown it when jiggling plug it arched.

I've had nothing but issues with this HVAC since I got had an before it.was great simple setup.unlike this model which has the double climate control.i fixed the blend doors since with replacement blender door fix to make it solid one way.but now have resistor issue.

Had an before was alot better machine but dam east coast rust killed it.

Lack of air flow could also cause the resistor to overheat. If for some reason the air flow is really low I would suspect this as the issue.

Ok I'll check, but saw nothing other than blend doors to cause a block of airflow.

This is why I was thinking the blower fan running sluggish, but it spins by hand no problem.

Ok I'll buy that, connector just mustt have been faulty, its seems to be a common problem area for these 2002 year models.that and blend doors.if only we could find the designers maybe we could burn at the stakes.but apparently they got there cut of money on that project and have all changed there names.good thing cause I get my hands on them, well that's another story for another time.thanks for ur input.keep truckin!!!!!snookie
