Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2003 Explorer has a black (sometime painted) plastic piece which covers the rear hatch exterior handle.  Mine is cracked and in need of replacement.  Unfortunately, I have spent two hours on the internet searching with no results.  Probably because I do not know the technical name of the exterior hatch trim part.  Any help appreciated

Mine is cracked as well on my '03 but it is only a small crack that has never gotten any larger or impaired its usefulness. Have you tried Amazon? As for the technical name, I think hatch cover is as close as you are going to get. Have you tried typing the following into your search engine: tailgate/hatch cover/explorer? Btw, any replacement from 2002-2005 will fit.

I've tried just about every combination possible in the search to no avail. I'll be passing a Ford dealership tomorrow on one of my ventures out. Guess I'll stop at the parts department for an inquiry, thanks.
