Can I "turn off" the supercharger on my 1997 Buick Riviera

Asked by Guru8RLQ3 Jan 06, 2020 at 12:27 PM about the 1997 Buick Riviera

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have the '97 model, super-charged.  However, it requires 91 octane. But, all
the local stations have only 93 premium.  Now, with the middle east tension,
premium is about $2.65.
Regular is 88 octane.  If I can't turn off the sc, could I run it with 88?

I would not use 88 octane. Nothing wrong with 93 octane. Out here you regular is $3.27.

^^ I agree. There's isnt anything wrong with using a higher premium octane.
