Gurgling sound from water reservoir and water leakage from under hood on passenger side. Is this normal?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2016 Ford Escape. I usually fill my water reservoir with 1L of water
before I drive every morning. When I get to work and park, water leaks from
the passenger side, right in front of the tire. As that is happening, I hear a
gurgling sound from the water reservoir. When I turned my car in to see
what's wrong, the mechanics told me that it's normal. I doubt that it's normal
because it just started happening 2 months ago. I just need an honest
answer so I know if I need to fix something or not.

No, I do not agree with the mechanic. It is NOT normal that you have to fill the coolant reservoir every morning, regardless of the amount. Check the reservoir, most probably it is cracked and needs to be replaced. The "gurgling" sound is air filling being suctioned in to the reservoir because coolant is low. Your 2016 Ford Escape is under five years warranty, unless you have exceeded the mileage; if not then take it to the dealer.

Have the cooling system pressure tested to find leak.
