does odo mean overdrive is on or off and where is the button to turn it on or off?

I would think that ODO is referring to the ODOmeter. Simply "OD" normally refers to OverDrive.

OD/O means overdrive is on. if your overdrive is off there will be nothing displayed.

if the car is automatic it should be on the side of the stick u change the gear with.
