What’s New for the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander

There are few to no changes in store for the 2024 Outlander. It was last redesigned for the 2022 model year.

Design

The Outlander’s front end and overall design are perhaps its most defining elements. The big, chrome grille makes a visual statement no matter which model you’re driving. Trims for the Outlander are ES, SE, Black Edition, SEL, SEL Touring, and SEL Premium.

Powertrain

Regardless of trim, the 2024 Outlander comes outfitted with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It puts out 181 horsepower an 181 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to the front wheels or available all-wheel drive (AWD). Towing capacity for the Outlander tops out at 2,000 pounds.

Fuel economy for the front-wheel-drive (FWD) Mitsubishi Outlander is 24 mpg city, 31 highway, and 27 combined. The AWD version returns 24 mpg city, 30 highway, and 26 combined.

Interior

Standard features on the 2024 Outlander include dual-zone automatic climate control, two USB ports, and cloth upholstery. The SE trim adds a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, rear-seat USB ports, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather-wrapped shift knob. The SEL trim adds three-zone automatic climate control, heated rear seats, and a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat. Other available features include full leather upholstery and an upgraded stereo system.

The Outlander comes with three rows of seating and room for up to seven passengers; however, that third row is extremely tight and is best-suited for children. The Outlander provides up to 79.7 cubic feet of cargo space. With the third row down and the second row up, there’s 33.5 cubic feet, and with all seats in use, there’s 11.7 cubic feet of cargo space. All but the base trim come with a hands-free power liftgate.

Technology

The base ES trim of the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All other trims come with a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Black Edition and SEL trims include a fully digital instrument panel.

Safety

The Outlander comes standard with a number of advanced driver-assistance features, including forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Pricing

At the time of this writing, the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander has a base MSRP of $28,395 for the ES model. The SE trim starts at $31,445, and the Black Edition starts at $32,645.
