The Dodge Challenger enters its 13th model year essentially unchanged, barring a facelift in 2015, because why mess with what works?
The 2022 Dodge Challenger is available in SXT, GT, RT, R/T Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, SRT Hellcat Redeye, SRT Super Stock, and SRT Jailbreak trims. Scat pack, Hellcat, and Hellcat Redeye models are each offered in a Widebody version as well.
New features for 2022 include a deluxe security alarm standard on R/T Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat, SRT Hellcat Redeye, and SRT Super Stock models and optional with the Driver Convenience Group on SXT, SXT AWD, GT, GT AWD, and R/T models.
The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 features 303 horsepower and is standard on SXT, SXT AWD, GT and GT AWD models. It’s paired with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 on the R/T trim, meanwhile, makes up to 375 horsepower and can be had with an eight-speed automatic or a Tremec six-speed manual.
A naturally aspirated 392 HEMI V8 is standard on R/T Scat Pack and Scat Pack Widebody models and delivers 485 horsepower. A 717-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 is standard on SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Widebody models. And a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI high-output V8 delivers 797 horsepower on SRT Hellcat Redeye and Redeye Widebody models and 807 horsepower on SRT Super Stock and SRT Jailbreak models. The 807-horsepower Challenger SRT Jailbreak trim is a custom order with option combinations in more than 20 categories.
Active Exhaust is standard on all HEMI V8 models: All 5.7-liter HEMI V8 Challenger models feature a 2.75-inch electronically controlled active exhaust system to deliver a signature Dodge muscle-car sound.
All-wheel drive (AWD) versions of SXT and GT trims include an AWD system with an active transfer case and front-axle disconnect system to improve fuel economy.
Widebody trims features fender flares integrated into the front and rear fasciae, adding 3.5 inches of width over the 20-by-11-inch wheels riding on wide 305/35ZR20 Pirelli P-Zero performance tires.
The Rear Seat Delete option group removes rear seating and rear seat belts and adds rear cargo nets on SRT Hellcat, SRT Hellcat Redeye and SRT Super Stock models.
The available Plus Package adds premium interior and exterior features, including heated and ventilated leather seats, power tilt/telescope steering column, unique wheels, and memory feature for driver seat, steering column, side mirror, and radio presets.
The Challenger features available e-safety and security features, including forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross path detection.
The 2022 Dodge Challenger SXT starts at $30,825 with RWD (rear-wheel drive) and $33,430 with AWD. Pricing goes up from there: R/T Scat Pack starts at $45,250, SRT Hellcat at $68,320, SRT Super Stock at $86,320, and SRT Jailbreak at $84,225.

Challenger Hellcats are purchased primarily for the powerful engines. The car also has most features you would expect in a performance automobile: AC, nice stereo, power adjustable drivers seat. 2023 was the last year for the Hellcats and Hemi engines. Cars 2 to 3 years or older with low mileage may be great values. These cars are heavier than most other sports cars and not as nimble on curves but straight line speed is impressive with the Hellcats. I have had 3 challengers v-6,Daytona 392 scat pack and now the hellcat.What I like is the auto stick option and the paddles ,it’s not manual but it’s as close to it as possible.I owned a 2023 Shelby and it wasn’t manual either but it had a turn knob and also paddles and in comparison I think they’re pretty much the same I like the fact that the hellcat has a few more options the set.pack etc.and it’s roomier also.The power is definitely there and the roaring is fun to hear. I wish I could test drive a redeye and a demon just for comparison,but the hellcat is awesome in my opinion. Jan 15, 2024

The car has body damage. Plastic on trunk where the word DODGE should be is damaged and it appears melted. It looks like some one remove the letters with a heat gun. The dealership refuses to fix the damage on the trunk or chipping paint on a year old car. Nov 09, 2023
