The CarGurus verdict
An unknown star in the compact luxury sport sedan market.
The Genesis G70 has everything going for someone who wants a small, sporty sedan. Speed, sound, style, quilted stitching, valet service—everything that starts with an "s" except status. The mass market doesn't notice Genesis. But this upstart brand, like established brands Alfa Romeo and Jaguar, has an uphill battle to fight against the big players. So what? That's their problem. You get a special car that people will notice and ask about, and you won't find an identical one (or four) parked next to yours. Sprinkle a fantastic warranty on top and boom, the deal's done.

What owners say
"Overall, owners are impressed with the 2020 Genesis G70, highlighting its excellent value for money, strong performance, and luxurious interior. Many drivers appreciate the acceleration and handling, which make it fun to drive. However, some reviewers noted downsides like limited backseat leg room and trunk space. A few felt the car is slightly overpriced compared to competitors."
The cars features are incredible. Everything about it is great. I would think it us a direct competitor to a BMW 340i at a lower price wirh better warranty snd lower repair cost
August 3, 2022Love the car! It’s so fast and such a great value!
May 12, 2022The G70 2.0T is a much better sports sedan than my previous car the2016 IS200t. Interior is very premium with way more standard features than the IS. Seats are very comfortable and there is very little turbo lag in comparison to the Lexus. Other than Reliability the G70 2.0T is a much better vehicle. It is very fun to drive and the rarity of the car is just the icing on the cake. It definitely combines the best of the Germans and Japanese automakers. The Genesis G70 is what the Lexus IS should have been.

December 9, 2022Outstanding. In city traffic it has proximity visibility beyond that of similar autos. The manual transmission is smooth, acceleration reliably quick and the transmission gates positive. The clutch friction point is visible on the tach but not a drag on the torque curve.
November 22, 2021Best value for the money. Terrific acceleration , comfort and handling.
May 30, 2020Great value and features compare to BMW series 3 and Audi A4.
February 11, 2021I think the car is a little over priced . Also there is not much leg room behind eh driver seat. I liked the 2.0L engine and the power.
April 17, 2021Beautiful red exterior color. Small backseat leg room. Small trunk.
