2020 Ford EcoSportReview
There is a lot to love about the SES trim, with the 2l, 4cylinder engine and 4x4 configuration. Great tech, stylish body lines, very agile, and exceedingly reliable. The only places it loses points is that the power is a little lacking for its class (although plenty for anybody prone to picking one up). The un-reconfigured cargo space is pretty limited, but this is almost completely cured by dropping the back seats and setting the cargo panel on the installed shelf tabs. Although the front has exceptional space, the rear seats are a bit cramped. Overall, this is a pretty great car, and Ford could have made a couple minor modifications and not discontinued it, and it would have been a great car. It came SO close to a 5-star rating from me. |

This car is comfortable but the ride is a little choppy. The little 2.0 I4 engine has to work pretty hard to get going on the highway. The SES model was pricey I think. Getting a dealer demo with a couple thousand miles on it made it more reasonably priced. The Escape had a 3 cylinders in the model about the same price and I wasnt on board with that. The SES Ecosport has most of the electronic stuff, back up camera, controlls on the steering wheel, warning for blind spot. Mileage on the way home was 32. My Taurus averaged 25 mpg on the same trip. It was a 270hp V6. The tree huggers and climate change alarmists can keep their electric cars. Mine helps the trees grow. |
