A great looking car, especially in Eternal Blue. Upscale looking interior and decent performance. Fun to drive.

would never have considered Mazda but was pleasantly surprised. Wow. many safety features that were used. excellent power from non turbo 2.5 4-. this was a grand touring model. handling was superior to Rav4.

Handling Ranked 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE AWD worse.
"The steering of the CX-5 feels more precise and engaging, making it more fun to drive."
Would Buy Ranked 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE AWD better.
"The superior fuel economy - with nearly equal performance - tipped the scales for me. The RAV4 Hybrid does not have as much power as the turbo CX-5 but it seems to accelerate as fast and more smoothly due to the low end torque from the electric motors and the continuously variable transmission. Thats engineering for you!"

says:
I’m 5’1” and, while I could reach the gas pedal, it was very uncomfortable. Since I drive long distances, it’s not the car for me.

2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature AWD Review
says:
Handles great with lots of features that cost least $10k more in other cars with those features: front and rear senors and views, head-up display, high quality interior. Very quiet and feels luxurious and its way more fun to drive than the Forester.
vs2019 Subaru Forester 2.5i Touring AWD

Back Seats Ranked 2019 Subaru Forester 2.5i Touring AWD better.
"Back seats in the CX-5 are fine for 2 people, but 3 in the back would not be comfortable for long trips. The USB outlets in the CX-5 are in the middle armrest, so I dont think Mazda intended the back seat to be used extensively to seat 3. The Forester was had plenty of room for 3 in the back."
Would Buy Ranked 2019 Subaru Forester 2.5i Touring AWD worse.
"The CX-5 felt like a luxury vehicle that is fun to drive and noticeably more quiet and more powerful. Theres nothing wrong with the Forester, its just kind of ho-hum in comparison."
