This car would be 5 stars with more power and a better transmission. It is handsome with a nice interior, and very reasonably priced. But I personally need more horses.

2017 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T SE Review
GuruWP45V says:
The steering feedback is decent. The car never struggles at high speed above 90 mph. The engine is very much refined and it is turbo charged. It produces 34 mpg on highway which is better than other German makes. Transmission is way better than toyota camry, hondas Accords CVT and VW has better DCT transmission. Ride quality is amazing! Handling is pretty good in turns and overall good road manners! Looks doesnt feel that sporty but the ride quality, engine and transmission more than makes up for it. Seats are very comfortable for long distance drive and quality of leather is decent. Multimedia with apple car play is also great to have. This makes up for a nice used car than other japanese makes.

2017 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T SE with Technology Pkg Review
Jesse says:
Excellent car so far (just got it). Acceleration is surprising good - the car is nimble. The ride is smooth - but would probably be smoother with smaller wheels (I have the 18). I really really like this car and am happy that we bought it. It feels really light and easy to drive - and yet, really well constructed. This is a solid and safe car. My first choice is an Audi A4 - but wanting to avoid a luxury car this time, I couldnt be happier with the Passat.

Looks/Style Ranked 2017 Audi A4 2.0T quattro Premium AWD better.
"Both cars are handsome and conservative, but sharper design on the Audi."
Value Ranked 2017 Audi A4 2.0T quattro Premium AWD worse.
"Great car, excellent quality and CR rating, fun to drive. The Audi gives you AWD and more luxury - which is nice, but not necessary if you are trying to save money."

2017 Volkswagen Passat 1.8T SE with Technology Pkg Review
Chad says:
Never ever would of thought to even look at a Volkswagen, but when I did I was blown away. This car for the money drives totally different from Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. People really need to look at this brand. The drive, performance and the safety technology really just blew me away.

Cargo Capacity Ranked 2017 Honda Accord EX-L FWD with Navigation and Honda Sensing better.
"Honda had a little more trunk capacity. But interior room and comfort goes to the Volkswagen. Volkswagen looks like it is smaller from the outside but you will be blown away like I was when you get inside. "
Family Car Ranked 2017 Honda Accord EX-L FWD with Navigation and Honda Sensing worse.
"Autonomous Braking, comfort, easy to use laser cruise control, the mobile apps feature which makes the screen of the radio mirror your mobile device, ease of Bluetooth pairing and use, the drive, and the performance."
