Expert review
The redesigned 2017 Audi A4 sets new standards in the entry-luxury sport sedan segment.
For 2017, Audi continues the design, engineering, and technological shift ushered in by last year’s all-new TT sports car. This year, the A4 sedan, the Q7 SUV, and the R8 supercar receive complete redesigns, with the A5 coupe arriving soon. To date, though, it's the best-selling A4 model that clearly lights the path to Audi’s future, and while the illumination cast by the popular sedan is bright, there are a handful dark patches for the company to address.

What owners say
"The 2017 Audi A4 has received positive feedback from drivers, who appreciate its combination of luxury, comfort, and performance. Many owners highlighted the car's stylish design, smooth handling, and high-quality interior materials. The Virtual Cockpit and advanced technology features were particularly praised. However, some drivers expressed disappointment about the lack of navigation in the Premium edition and the absence of heated seats and blind spot warning indicators."
Great features and very comfortable . Car is a great value, in its segment.
December 10, 2024Great vehicle! Only miss for me are heated seats, and blind spot warning indicators. My other car spoiled me; but not a deal breaker at all!!

August 14, 2020I love all of the tech and safety features, as well as the turbo! Im still learning everything about it but loving every minute!
January 18, 2024Terrific car. Perfect combination of luxury and power. Appreciate the understated looks, will continue to look current for years to come. Took awhile to find the one I wanted in red, but worth the wait.
August 18, 2020This all based on less than 1 week of ownership. Feature rich. High Tech Cockpit. You feel like youre in a fighter jet. Surprising acceleration from the 4-cyl engine. Holds the road like theres glue on the tires. Think of a lane change and its. done. Clearly, the competition is BMW 3-series and Mercedes C-class
January 30, 20222017 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Premium edition. I have had this car for about 4 days. I have already driven it through sloppy road conditions and it has handled wonderfully. The throttle response is great. The handling takes getting used to since it is electromagnetically controlled instead of fluidly controlled like other cars. The brakes are responsive. The ability to choose your AWD settings is great. The option to manually shift gears is a big feature for me. There are just a couple of things I am not happy about. The first thing is the Premium edition apparently does not support GPS or navigation in the infotainment system, even though there is the setting for it. The second thing is there is no remote start offered by Audi. There are aftermarket options and most of them require the spare key to be sacrificed (which mine did not come with because the person who traded it in to the dealership in NY was not forced to give it up). The settings in the car tell you there IS a second key programmed to the vehicle, so it is just out there somewhere. The front defrosters are less impressive than the front defroster on my 2013 VW Jetta, which I am dissatisfied with.
February 10, 2021I had been in a friends Audi A3 years ago and remembered that it was a nice car so when I saw an A4 for sale, I decided to take it out for a test drive. On the drive I noticed that it had really good pick up and was quiet and smooth too, I left thinking that I might like to make an offer so I did the following day. We agreed on a number and I bought it. I bought the Premium Plus version which came with a really nice interior. The leather seats are comfortable and the quality of materials is really good. One of the more attractive features was the Virtual Cockpit which is a 12.3 inch screen that is configurable and works well with the 8 inch infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard. I really like the handling characteristics and it is a pleasure to drive even though it is not all wheel drive. At night it comes alive with lighted cup holders and door sills. The LED headlights are very nice an bright white, but the really cool lights are the led tail lights that blink sequentially similar to a Ford Mustang. Overall I am very pleased with the A4 and I can really appreciate how classy it looks, but yet gets up and goes when you ask it to. Now I think I need an RS version.
February 13, 2020The styling is stunning, but its real charm is its safety features.
July 4, 2022Great value....really solid vehicle Excellent cockpit and other technology Very quiet ride!
