2014 BMW M6 Coupe RWDReview
This Is A Great High Performance Car For The Money. — Sort of covered that above. Biggest surprise was the difference between the my old 6 of many years ago. This guy fit right and drive within seconds. It had endless performance to the point of being way more capable of out performing everyday traffic or normal needs. For a big heavy car it handled like it was on rails, but where other than on a track can you safely utilize it? The DCT is quite impressive versus any sport 8 speed out there, but again it has a distant feel between gears versus a shift into 3rd or 2nd in a 5 speed bimmer. The 5 speed large bimmers, either with 6s or V8s, seem to me to be a Best Fit.
Pros: Dual clutch is the new hot set-up. That was the purpose of the test drive. It's cool but not a stick. Faster shifts for sure. In sport mode you can bang it down the gears faster than by any double clutching man can offer. Yet is still has that automatic feel if for no other reason than you have so many gears. There is nothing for you right foot to do either! It is a joy just the same with a heavy dose of civility and ease about it.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike about this $125,000 stickered priced car, all the goodies, plus sunroof delete (which I liked). It is probably the least expensive uber high performance car in a big chassis. Entry and exit was easy, comfort superb, and performance beyond belief. Need to hit the lottery to even consider but will "Bucket List" it in the meantime. The M6 coupe is just beyond a sensible, remotely practical, or drivable car - unless you have money to burn or could agree not to worry about wear, dents, or the inevitable decline in value that the first owner takes. Sure would like to try that someday.
