Everyday Grocery Getter That Handles Better Than Those Small Suvs. — Our main reason for owning this Hyundai Elantra Touring is we prefer a small station wagon over the ever popular small SUVs that are everywhere. I like that it feels like a car...a really nice, well made small sedan...instead of a small truck. The body roll is at a minimum, the ride is, well, car-like, and the performance is surprisingly good from the little 4 banger. Hyundais today are not the Hyundais of ten years ago. The build quality is first rate, the leather seats are excellent...and heated! These new Hyundais are definitely worth a look if you want a good, reliable, everyday car for taking the kids to school and picking up dinner! I love the 17 inch wheels and low profile tires. Really adds to the style as well as the handling. My wife calls it her go-kart!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Looks great, runs great, costs next to nothing to operate and maintain, does the family car job while feeling like a much more expensive sports sedan.

Cons: It's a family car, not a track-day car.  But I guess that really isn't a con now, is it?

2012 Hyundai Elantra Touring GLS FWD Review
Sanka says:
This was a surprising car. I didnt even know what it was, I just had an old honda crv and wanted a newer car that had the same cargo space and was more fun to drive and less road noise. I didnt want to go german, so all that was left was a tsx wagon and subaru outback. Both were pricey used, but in was willing to pay except none of them made me feel like I was getting much for paying more. I happened to run into this car used at the dealer and liked the understated look, was shocked it had the same cargo space as my crv, had more legroom for my kid and came in a manual. Sold.
