Great Car For Anyone — The car is overall a great buy. I'm more than happy with it and i can already tell I'll be saving a ton of money without having to stop at the gas station as often. I've had it over 2 weeks and haven't even come close to needing gas

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great fuel economy on electric and gas. Handles well. Smooth. Good turning radius. BOSE speakers. Great interior. Good looking car as far as electric cars go.

Cons: Leg room in back

Love This Car — Best car I have ever owned. Other than the cargo room issue and he small back seat everything else I love about this car. The gas mileage is a big plus if you are a short range driver. less than 30 miles per day.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Clean car
Great gas mileage

Cons: lack of cargo space
small back seat

Great As A Daily Driver Or Commuter Car! — GM did an amazing job on the fit and finish of this car. Can't beat the fuel savings at the pump and has cutting edge technology in your garage. Would highly recommend this car for anyone that enjoy having a great conversation piece. Well done GM.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Super great for saving gas!!  Drives like a regular car on the highway and feels firmly planted on the road.

Cons: Only 2 people can sit in the back.

Love My Volt! — Very economical, comfortable, smooth riding car. I've owned Lexus and Acura and this car is much quieter and smoother than those. Acceleration is awesome, especially in sport mode. Brakes are a bit mushy, but I'm used to driving my Acura. However, I feel super safe in the car and the car is really fun to drive - especially considering that I'm driving around town for next to nothing.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Excellent mileage. I can get to and from work, as well as run my errands, on purely electric, so I'm averaging 230mpg.

Cons: Backseats are tight. The sound system is still a bit weak, even with the premium Bose system.

The Cool Car Grandma Drives — Cool, quiet, fuel efficient. We call it our shuttlecraft. It is like driving a spacecraft. When we "start" it, it hums. You really have to listen to hear the hum. People love looking at it and they are amazed it is silent.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: 200 mpg

Cons: Mother doesn't like to ever use gas. She has become paranoid about using fuel.

Great commuter car. We average 120 mpg if you plug in all the time. Engine is kicked on when cold or you run out of electricity. Drives about 29 miles on electricity alone on a full charge.

Solves range anxiety but only seats four. Less cargo space overall. Not as much fun to drive. Sucks to have to put in Premium gas every once in a while, but thats the price to pay for longer range.

Back Seats Ranked 2012 Nissan LEAF SL better.
"Leaf seats three in the back but Volt only seats two. Also, heated back seats a nice feature for Maine winters."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2012 Nissan LEAF SL better.
"Hatchback of Leaf is taller than hatchback of Volt. We fit a lot of stuff (two bicycles, for example) in the back of our Leaf with the seats folded down. The Volt doesnt have as much volume in the back."
