I Love My Cx9 — We came from a Nissan Murano which we were very disappointed with. We gave up the third row in my Durango for better gas mileage and I was getting about the same in the Murano. We needed more space as the kids were getting bigger (16, 13 and 9) so we test drove the CX9 because it had the third row and loved the ride. My now 16 year old wants my car to drive because he likes the way it drives too. My suggestion is to buy a Mazda.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Love the way it handles and the space it provides my family of five. We use it to travel to Destin each year and have plenty of space.

Cons: Don't like the gas mileage.

The Most Gangsta Family Car Evar — Excellent quality and build materials. A great bang for the buck in this car in terms of luxury. Performance is spirited and car is very agile. Maintainance is low and the car is a dream to drive. Totally brings out the zoom-zoom in me.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Acceleration for a crossover

Cons: I wish i had bigger rims..

I Hate It!!! — I hate it!!!! In the morning, you can't see the radio/navigation system due to a glare (even in tilt position). I constantly hit my head getting in (googled this problem and found CX-9 Watch your Cranium blog), and I am only 5 foot tall and with the seat all the way up, my knees are deathly close to the steering wheel. Just this past week, I very lightly tapped into my other car in the driveway, but was surprised to get out and find that the enter door buckled. What would happened if I was actually going more than 2 miles an hour!??????

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: none

Cons: a lot

Cx9 - She Is Beautiful — It is an amazing SUV with real sport gene. It sticks on to the road. I would call it as a japenese cousin of Audi Q7. It rides from 0 to 100kms in less than 8secs but is electronically limited to 160kms. The interior is pure luxury. Even though looks small fits 7 people easily. True value for money.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Luxury 7 seater

Cons: electronic speed limiter set at 160kms

My 2009 Cx-9 Experience —

- It's reasonably quick, 0-60 in about 7 or 8 seconds. - It drinks the fuel a bit as it's really heavy, so I get through about 70 litres for 480 km (300 miles.) This is poor for a 3.7 V6. - Very, very quiet. Even when it's being thrashed to within an inch of it's life, the engine stays quiet. - The 3rd row seats are useless unless you have small children or friends who are 3ft tall! - The BEST thing about this car is that it handles SO WELL. It feels like driving a saloon car, but it's over 5 metres long and weighs 2 tons! - The 6-speed auto transmission is as smooth as any I've seen. - This is seriously comfortable and I'd happily drive it all day long without feeling it. - The reclining and sliding action of the 2nd row seats is really useful for passengers on a long road trip. - Mazda for some reason insert cream coloured floor mats throughout this car when it has cream leather seats. My best advice is remove them before you leave the showroom! Replace them with black ones or they'll be ruined within a week. - Even after a few months, I still can't decide about the looks of this car. the back end looks great, but the front resembles a Mazda6 on stilts. Very odd, but kinda nice too. - The only other thing to mention for buyers in the GCC is the 120kph warning signal - It's VERY VERY loud. Ask the dealer to muffle it or you'll be sorry. - iPod unit is great, as is the speaker system.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Handling, ride, interior quality

Cons: Crap floor mats, overspeed alarm

Totally Unique In It's Class. — The CX-9 Grand Touring is an exciting vehicle. Performance, comfort and quality are equal to Luxury Sport Sedans in the same price range. Outstanding second row seating and climate control...very ample leg room. ALL the latest tecnology in electronics and safty. Double 5-star crash ratings. If you'e looking for and/or at a full size SUV, don't miss this one. Seriously.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Design, comfort and overall quality. "reg" gas

Cons: 'slightly' fussy keyless system

Good — Acceleration is very good for its size, easy to handle and breaks are pretty good. Gets scratched on the inside pretty easily which is disappointing e.g gear stick, side panels. Looks good especially with the chrome rims, uses quite a bit of fuel but have to expect that from a large car. Very easy and relaxing car to drive.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Comfort

Cons: Automatic

Mazda Cx9, I Love It — the engine is not the best, but not the worst either, reasonable acceleration, good brakes and good handling it has never needed any repairs and i think its gorgeous on both in inside and the outside. the gas mileage is a biiit high but its affordable. And i personally think this car is a lot of fun to drive, a lot of accessories and somehow feels good driving it

Pros: very good looking, and a lot of fun

Cons: engine could be better
