    2009 Ford Flex SEL Review

We bought this car new and enjoyed every moment with it. We had to trade it because payments became too much. but got our entire payoff from the dealer because they are rare and in demand. My husband and I will always choose this car as our favorite family car because it is roomy for ALL 7 passengers and has a storage well in the back like minivans. It towed our popup beautifully, the vista roof made long and short trips more enjoyable for visibility for kids doing homework or reading or just looking for something in the back seat. It is a quiet smooth ride to the point that I got a speeding ticket my first day out because there was no wind noise when accelerating. I had to watch my speedometer for the first time ever, this also means we could hear conversations and entertainment with ease. The Sony sound system rivaled top of the line surround sound in our home. This car goes above and beyond because ALL passengers, even the third row, had comfortable seats. Legendary Ford air conditioning was also great. We had no trouble with Ford Sync, Keypad entry, programmable seats and blue tooth phone connection. It all worked as expected and easy to setup.

Worth The Price — I like everything about this vehicle, size, car like handling, looks, 6 cylinder power, comfort, visibility, fridge/freezer, seat heaters, I wish it had cooled seas as well... DVD systems helps, 3rd row seats a must, navigation, safety, big wheels

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: power, styling, handling looks

    Cons: mpg

Most Versatile Car We've Ever Had — We absolutely loved this car. Although we are downsizing right now, I'm sure we'll be purchasing another Flex in a few years. My husband and I both loved being able to drive several others when we traveled as a group from work out to lunch or to a conference. We opened up the back and used it to sleep in when we traveled with our motorcycles in tow....one time we even carried a motorcycle in the back! It goes everywhere. The luxury of a car and the versatility of a truck...but it is so pretty we ended up getting an old truck for our dirty jobs...didn't want to mess it up!

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: We looked at every car that could hold 7 people...this Flex won us over by a mile
Not only did it have everything we could possibly want, it drove like a luxury car...not
a truck....not a big step up....easy to get in and out of.   A beautiful car that suited our needs plus!

Cons: The only possible con I can think of is the length....We try to be very careful when parking in parking lots because spacing is often cramped.

Great Family Hauler And Road Trip Vehicle! — Awesome vehicle. Rides smooth, handles well. Accelerates nice, brakes are good. Can haul 6 people and cargo without problems. A little thirsty for gas, but not too bad. I love how smooth it is on the highway, also hardly any road noise in the cabin, even at high speeds. All in all, it's a great ride!

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: The amount of head and leg room is unreal

Cons: sucks down gas, but what can I expect coming from a Focus, right?

Great All Around Vehicle And Better Than Minivan. — Great back seats, even for tall people - great leg room. Fridge in the back is awesome and can hold a six pack or a quart of ice cream. Plenty of power for towing and have pulled boats with it and not a problem putting boats into the water or pulling them out.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The huge amount of room

Cons: The brakes have been an issue getting changed at times.

Overall Great Family Car — We love our Flex so much that we're going to upgrade to a 2012. We love the sound, mileage, comfort and entertainment system. We would prefer more leg room in the last row and a little more cargo space in the back. Solid acceleration, handling and breaking. I feel safe in this car.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Very comfortable car with lots of thoughtful features. Good mileage. Great family car. Great sound / entertainment.

Cons: Cargo space. Last row seating. Better than some but could use a little more. Headrest leaves something to be desired.

Great Crossover — Very Stylish, fridge is a great addition especially here in South Florida! lighting pkg is fun, SYNC with GPS is awesome (line in for IPOD) Kids love the DVD player in the back and love that they have their own bucket seats (which one likes to recline more than the other).

Pros: Fun, looks great, lots of room, lots of light with the Vista Roof

Cons: not as peppy as other crossovers, braking is a little soft

Awesome Car — My Ford Flex is BOSS. It turns heads, looks great, and gets supurb gas mileage for what it is. the only problem is that salt and dirt build up in the bottom part of the doors and i'm worried they will cause it to rust. It cost around +30K. mine is a V6 but it HAULS. it sounds like im driving a sportscar!!!And it gets 21mpg HW. seats 7

Pros: looks, feels, and drives great

2009 Flex — Not bad for a minivan, if that's what you want to call it. Handles much better than one. Weird tranny - acceleration is sluggish and the tranny doesn't shift hard/fast enough in my opinion, but it has big wheel base and rides like a caddy. No problems after 50k except for temperamental power door lock on one door. The space and features inside make up for the Kleenex-box exterior. As far as gas goes, I find it a bit cheaper to run than my old 2006 Caravan, so not bad for its size.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: Good handling, comfort.

    Cons: Tranny sucks.
