Write a reviewThe Scion tC Sport Coupe got some modest exterior, interior, and technological updates for 2008. Exterior updates include new headlights and taillights. Interior updates include new seat fabric and an updated instrument panel. In addition, the Scion tC gets iPod connectivity and an optional navigation system with a 7-inch touch screen.
The new model comes in one Base trim and sports a 2.4-liter, 161-hp inline four engine with a standard five-speed manual transmission or an optional four-speed automatic. Gas mileage comes out to 23 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway. The Scion tC has 2 doors, seats 5, and offers standard sunroof, power windows, power door locks, air-conditioning, CD player, and ABS brakes.
Overall, the '08 Scion tC gets accolades from drivers as a good ride for the money. It looks good, handles well, and holds its own on the highway. While this coupe could use some extra horsepower, it'll certainly get you respect from your budget-conscious friends and those who don't know any better.

Great car, wouldn't have any other one for my daily driver! I bought this little dime in March of 2012 with a wowing 22,000 miles on it, can you say fantastic for a 2005? I can, what a deal. In this last year I have racked up about 13,000 miles without a single repair. Maintenance is a must, but this car makes it super easy to keep the car in pristine condition while maintaining a modest budget. I am married, with no children which makes the tC & I the perfect combination. May 13, 2013

I really enjoy this car everything from its sporty look to the way it handles in and out of corners. Its awesome at track or just messing around with friends the power to gas consumption is amazing. i haul all kinds of stuff and still have funtionality of a small gas saving sports coupe.Aug 04, 2012

i love my car, the only thing i dont like is that its front wheel drive, and non turbo. but at least one of those things can be changed very easily. i love also that its like a lego car, every thing u can imagine just pops off.. and u can get upgraded parts for it.(carbon fiber etc.) i also love the panaramic sunroof ( basicly a sunroof and a moon roof all in one) so the whole top of my car is glass. I like the appearance and the sound of the car but the performance in power is its major downfall. The handling is amazing with the right set of springs though. The car could use boost to make it fast but is relatively expensive and will destroy the motor quickly unless done right.Nov 30, 2009

Good on gas cheap on headaches priced right with plenty of standard features.A
little slow but I bought the automatic because of LA traffic.Handles well fun to
drive not much a fan of front wheel drive cars but with a camry motor it's sure to

Cost of Ownership: gas mileage is decent, maintenance is affordable.
Performance: Handles the way a car should around curves and turns, braking is good, accelerates better/faster than sister toyotas.
Appearance: Sporty, easy to modify.
Build Quality: In 2 years of ownership I've only changed the oil when needed and I'm just now getting new tires and brakes.

I'll start with the positives of the tC. It looks fantastic and I get a lot of
compliments for it. With the backseats folded down there is a surprisingly large
amount of storage room in the back. The speaker system is also exceptional,
the only complaint I have is that the bass can sometimes be annoyingly loud,
especially to passengers in the back seat.
On to the semi-cons. Performance is alright, nothing spectacular, but much
better than your average car. It is fun to drive and accelerates and corners
well, but not like a true sports car. The build quality is very good, I have no
complaints about the materials and I have not had any problems with it's
reliability. Gas mileage is average: I get around 23 mpg, mostly city driving.Aug 31, 2009

Takes 10psi of boost on stock internals like a champ! Built great, lacks some nicer features like power/heated seats, ride is a little noisey. Fun to drive, but cant beat AWD. Front wheel drive isnt the best for performance but for what it is, it does the job great.Aug 10, 2009

The Scion is a great car for the value. It works good for commuting, and gets over 300 miles to the gallon. It comes with nice power features. The sun roof and moon roof make the car seem more pleasing.May 21, 2009

Performance –for a little sporty hatch this is pretty swift!
Build Quality – no rattles, squeaks - nothing broken...sweet
Appearance – pretty smart for a hot-hatch in its class in US
Cost of Ownership –good gas, 1st two services are free!!

I think something is already wrong with the clutch. Not even 4k on it, it sticks but great drive overall and lots of pick-up. lots of interior room and cool storage. the gas isn't that good either, about 16 city maybe 20 highway. but for the price of the car you get a lot. rims, power everything, sunroof, keyless on key. the car handles great its fun to drive but with gas prices it is kind of hard.Jul 22, 2008

High hopes were not let down after owning the car for almost a year. At first glance, it seems to be sporty and practical, with the hatchback and "chubby" exterior. However, after a few burnouts and zips from zero to sixty, you quickly learn that there is more potential for this car than meets the eye. One could expect gas mile-age in the mid- to upper-twenties, and possibly low thirties for those not willing to push limits. The sound system is solid

2008 TC, 36k miles, A LOUD squeal from rear brakes first thing in the morning when backing out of my driveway. Did I say LOUD. Had brakes checked and dealers response no visable issues i.e. pads fine and unable to duplicate sound

Hey. So car would turn over but wasn't firing oft. Replaced fuel pump. Can hear fuel pump work now. Car tried to fire off. Rummbled an stalled few times. Now turns over but won't fire any more. What else should I check

Problems with fuses
I have the tool that lights on when fuses have power and there are some that don't have power and when I take them out the fuses are not blowned out. I don't know what is the problem. The ac sometimes turns on sometimes it does not and the moonroof does not open.
