Expert review
The Cadillac CTS has the looks, feel, and price, but it falls just short of being a BMW replacement.
The CTS has been around since 2003, but it has gotten a major facelift and brand-new interior for 2008. Although it’s close in size to other midsize luxury sedans, the CTS is priced like a smaller car. This year, a new 3.6-liter V6 with direct injection and 304 horsepower is available. A carryover version of the same engine is also available but features a lower output of 264 hp. The CTS is also available with all-wheel drive (AWD) for the first time this year.

What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 2008 Cadillac CTS have a very positive view of this luxury sedan. They particularly liked its stylish design, comfort, and impressive performance, especially with the V6 engine. Many appreciated the luxury feel and good handling, making it a fun car to drive. However, some drivers noted specific dislikes, including cramped back seat space and the requirement for premium gas, which can be a downside for some."
Dollar for dollar pound for pound and mile for mile-by far- the best vehicle in its class. I shopped a LOT for a luxery sports sedan and this is NOT your grandpa's Cadillac. It has a strong horsepower and torque and the sport transmition allows you to play even with the automatic. Very fun car.
July 18, 2008Great Car overall, I would not have any complaints or downsides to this vehicle. It has great power and is great on gas. I love the Red color with the Tan interior. The chrome accent package adds more luxury and beauty. Cadillac is Truly a top of the line car!
May 6, 2015Handling and braking are superb. Always feel sure-footed in the corners, wet or dry. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires are amazing. Gas, maintenance and other operating costs are fairly low. Top marks for Cadillac service. Build quality is top notch. Almost no issues with mechanical or electrical systems, or interior trim pieces. The car is an absolute stunner to see on the street. After 3 years with the car, I still get compliments on it regularly.

December 12, 2010The best car I have ever owned....and will probably be the first car to get me a ticket! Seriously, the performance is bar none...and it takes regular gas! It was worth the 8 months I waited to get it. Road trip anyone? :)
January 29, 2009This car is the best Cadillac ever. It looks sleek and modern, yet definitely still feels like a Caddy. The interior is top notch and the one I drove didn't even have the top-of-the-line interior. The one I drove had the smaller sub300hp V6 but I could imagine the 300hp V6. This car rocks! Definitely a winner for Cadillac!
July 26, 2008Familiar with the Cadillac lineup of cars and have owned a CTS previously. Cadillac stands for quality and luxury.
October 4, 2023It's definately fast, but not made for the drag strip. The 6 speed is best for winding roads and high speed performance. The styling both inside and out leaves little to be desired. I especially like the accent lighting around the doors and dash. The all-wheel drive works exceptionally well in conjunction with the traction and electronic stability control systems. The only thing I wold change about this car would be to replace the faux metal trim inside with all wood. The faux metal looks cheap.
April 4, 2008this car handles like a dream and looks amazing
January 20, 2008I think this car is great as long as you get the one with the V6. The 4 cylinder is under powered. But the car is worth every penny.
June 9, 2021I bought a 2009 Cadillac CTS and loved it. It was reliable, stylish, comfortable and quick.
