Best of the first gen Ford Escape Hybrids! We had one totaled in a horrific accident, and the car protected us well. So much so that we replaces it with an identical car!

Great Gas Mileage — This car gets the best gas mileage out of any other AWD car I've seen. The hybrid makes this a very economical SUV with AWD/4WD. Nice ride and very few problems. I have loved this car! Lots of space for a family.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Gas Mileage, AWD, Space

Cons: Nothing, I love it!

Reliable, Good Enough — Not as much fun to drive, does the job well enough. Gas milage good for the size of car - I regularly get at least 35 mpg on the road. I feel safe and in control, just not so much on the fun side. I added navigation and dvd player after market so the kids like it.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Easy maintenance, good all around vehicle

Cons: rough ride, not built for SUV loads

Coolest Auto I Have Owned — Don't believe those who say they wont pay for themselves. This little SUV AVERAGES 32 mpg. I have yet to get less than 27 mpg. Solid as a rock, Incredible quality and low maintenance. Plenty of power.

Pros: Fuel economy

Cons: Aerodynamics

An Suv With No Hp, That's What I've Always Wanted!!! — I am never going to pay $32,000 for an SUV that doesn't even have 200hp, you can't tow anything with it, offroading is not recommended, and the A/C shuts of in bumper to bumper traffic. We test drove it in the city and highway for 20 miles and the mpg never got above 28mpg. I am still upset with Kermit the Frog for recommending it to me, he is right though, its not easy being green. Get a Highlander if you are still dead set on a Hybrid, or wait a couple of years until they get better

Pros: has standard electrical outlets in vehicle

Cons: no horsepower, no performance, expensive, overrated

30+ Mpg City In An Suv. Need I Say More? — This is a great car for the money-- it has excellent gas mileage (If you're willing to alter you're driving a bit, it's possible to get close to 40mpg in the city!) and plenty of space for people and stuff. Add AWD, and it's even good in the snow.

Pros: Great gas mileage
Decent nav system
Attractive inside and out

Cons: Too much road and engine noise

Cost Efficient Hybrid Suv — My wife and I really like this vehicle. She has a passion for yard saling and this car is great for those stop/start situations. Great fuel economy for an SUV. The oddest feature of the vehicle is the feeling that you're sitting in a truck because the driver's seat sits higher than you would expect. Not a bad feature, just takes getting used to. Impressive amount of cargo space, especially with the back seats laid down. Insulation from road noise could be improved, but the radio easily covers the sound.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Excellent fuel economy for an SUV, averaging 30 MPG's; surprising cargo capacity; dynamite in the snow

Cons: Road noise is louder than expected, poorly insulated
