Great Vehicle — I loved my Highlander Hybrid for its power, comfort, smooth shifting, and reliability. I owned it for seven years and never had any problems. The Highlander's middle row of seats slide forward and back which is nice and the third row tucks into the floor. The Highlander gets great gas mileage for an AWD V6 SUV. The engine break is a great feature as well. I have taken the Highlander to the mountains and the Oceano Dunes. It is a great, comfortable, reliable, and fun vehicle to drive.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Excellent power, smooth shifting, comfortable, reliable, and seats seven

Cons: No upper rear air ducts (floor only)

Toyota Highlander Hybrid 2006 — I bought this car used with 97k miles. For a car that age it rides really well and has had no mechanical problems. The interior is comfortable and well-appointed. It rides nicely on the highway, which was important as we will use this car for family trips. The third-row seat adds flexibility for transporting kids and friends.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Rides great for an SUV, has ample power, good mileage for a car this size.

Cons: The brakes could be stronger

Reliable Family Car — This car was a fine car to use while raising my children and provoking carpools and the general around town errands. It has been very reliable and we have not had any major issues with the car. It has ben a great car for my son to learn to drive.

Pros: Reliable, great family car, excellent car for my son to learn to drive.
Practical and the mileage is great.

Cons: Somewhat predictable styling, no real bells and whistles.

An Awd Suv With 26 Mpg In 50%/50% City/highway - Awesome — Interior is classic Toyota -- nothing too high end and nothing too cheap - mainstream and functional. Gas/Hybrid switch is quiet and unintrusive. Acceleration when passing etc. is superb

Pros: MPG

Cons: MPG -- need more :-).  Wish I had the options frmo 2007 and 2008 years!

I have seen a lot ofnegativity on the Highlander hv because of milage. I average a good 26 overall so what the H... should I complain, its fast ,its safe, looks good to me. I can aford one so I have no reason except to love it.
