After some minor changes in the 2005 Ion Red Line, Saturn made a few more for 2006. With Ion production scheduled to conclude in 2007, Saturn probably saw the end and started to pull back the reins. Otherwise, the Ion Red Line has maintained its basic identity as a sporty coupe on performance enhancers. The 2006 Saturn Ion Red Line has a 2.0 L, 205 hp I4 engine with 5 speed manual transmission. Fuel consumption runs from 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. This coupe still seats 4 and keeps its unique 4 door design.
