2007 Saturn ION Red Line Preview summaryImage

While the regular Saturn ION got a minor power boost for 2007, the premium ION Red Line remained intact for its final year of production. This sporty coupe maintains the same unique 4 door design with 2 regular doors opening into the front row and 2 smaller half doors giving you access to the back row. The ION Red Line seats 4 and has 5 speed manual transmission. The 2.0 L, 205 hp I4 engine provides a substantial power upgrade over the 145 hp in the base ION's and the 175 hp available in the Enhanced Performance Package. However, with great power comes great responsibility and the ION Red Line follows the rule just like any other car. The extra horses translate to the lowest gas consumption figures in the Red Line Series, with 23 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Standard features include power windows, power door locks, leather seats, cd player, and ABS brakes. Options include sunroof and traction control. As it makes its last run in 2007, the ION Red Line exits to solid reviews. Many drivers enjoy the sleek look and impressive power packed into an I4 engine. Others would appreciate better handling at higher speeds. Either way, the ION Red Line left its mark and now makes way for Saturns newest creations.

Acceleration is crazy. Sounds like an airplane taking off in 3rd gear. I have the perfomance kit on mine and I just fly! It is the perfect size, mid-sized coupe with lots of room for everyone and everything. I would put on some 3M protection for my front end...it has some pretty good dings from the rocks.Jul 15, 2009

This thing is so fast. Once you pop it in 3rd gear it flies. Much more torque than the civic SI, and power at that! It is underrated at 205 hp (I have seen dyno sheets of stock IRL's with 212-220hp (about 35 more hp than stock at the flywheel). Super strong Getrag transmission puts the power down beautifully with minimal power shifting jolt.May 23, 2007
