2006 Nissan X-Trail Reviews, Pricing & Specs

I would not buy this car if you live anywhere in Canada where the winters get temperatures below -15 degrees and or they use salt on the roads. I spent way too much money in two years replacing bearing after bearing on this vehicle. The heater is inadequate for colder days and if you have a high moisture climate that turns cold - forget about your doors working! .. and YES .. even if you lubricate your hinges and locks etc!Jun 13, 2013

This is an excellent little all-wheel drive vehicle with great performance from it's 170 HP 4-banger. This has been driven by my wife since new and has proven to be very reliable. The seating position, for her, is excellent - with great visibility all around. It has the panoramic sunroof, 6-CD changer, heated seats and mirrors, along with A/C, cruise, power windows and door locks. This has proven to be a very versatile vehicle - great for hauling the family - or just to go to the hardware or grocery store.Apr 05, 2010

I love it. It looks good, is cheap on gaz and has extras too. Of course, it's not a V6 or V8, and doesn't have a lot of pulling strength, but if you don't plan on pulling a trailer camper (it could though) then it's a perfect Suv. Nice in bad weather with it's 4x4. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I'll be using it until it's all boken down... and I'm assuming it will be a long time.Sep 13, 2008

one of the best selling cars nissan has ever produced won the suv of the year award for 2006 despite having really strong competitors in the industry. its solid built. its easy to drive. maintaining it doesnt really burn a hole in your pocket. a very versatile and one of the most agile suvs in the current market. superb traction, handling and braking. feels like driving a normal car. AWD 4WD features works awesome. i had much fun with this car on the beach. eheheheh even a 2.0 QR20DE with CVTC variable valve timing, it's major advantage lies in it's CVT built gearbox. unlike regular gearboxes out there, it doesnt have a set of different gear ratios. it only as 2 pulleys which acts as an infinite ratio, a variable transmission. with such efficiency makes this car has the capability to speed even at low revs, thus making it a much lesser fuel consuming vehicleJun 14, 2008

I love this type of boxy style it remind me a baby Hummer or any military vehicles. The engine is gutless, however fuel consumption is acceptable. X-Trail handles very well in all weather condition, especially in deep snow. 4-speed auto transmission shift smoothly. Interior spacing is tight, will be uncomfortable for long trip traveling. The BonaVista special edition model comes with AM/FM, 6 discs changer and cassette tape player...great stuff, I can still play my 80's music. Visibility is acceptable, although I find the the "b" pillar maybe interfere the blind-spot. Overall, this compact SUV is recommended, however in 2007 was the last year. Now, Nissan replacing the X-Trail with the new Rogue. Mar 29, 2008
