A friendof mine came to pick me up at the airport in his Ford F-250 Super Duty. After throwing my bag in the spacious back seat, I settled in for the hour-long ride ahead of us.
I was surprised by the number of dials on the console. There were buttons to enhance towing and some "aux" buttons that my friend had not yet figured out. The cup holders in the center console held his big coffee mug and my water bottle. Compartments hidden in the seat separator thing up front and the glove compartment were roomy. The interior was very comfortable, until I got out and fell about two feet to the ground...graceful...
The ride was smooth. We were going 75 and the truck handled it with no problem. My friendnoted that unlike his old Dodge Ram 2500, this truck had very poor acceleration. He was not able to weave in and out of cars like he used to in his old truck. (Of course, I was kind of grateful for this, as his driving used to terrify me).
Parking was as good as expected for a large truck. The cornering was slightly worse than most large trucks, as they had moved the wheels further apart to make for a wider turning radius. We picked up a few friends and had six adults sitting comfortably in the truck.

Can’t kill a 7.3 !! No two ways about it! Hands down. When they said, the 7.3 was a 1 Million mile motor, they absolutely meant it. Nice product, nice price, everyone is nice

January 25, 20226.0L diesel has lots of power but I only get 15 MPG but no matter what I tow or put in the back I still get about 15 MPG

October 4, 2023Performance-Torque powerhouse, especially when properly modified. Braking exceeds needs of the standard vehicle, even when heavily loaded. Build Quality-The truck is solid. Just ending with 600whp/1,000wtq., the front hubs start to suffer. That is all I have had fail. -The Truck is an Amarillo Edition 6.0L Diesel. I see 17mpg/city, 25mpg/hwy. And it pulls like a DEMON. Outperforms my previous 2007 GT in acceleration, comfort, reliability, and it goes everywhere. Ultimately, a luxury diesel truck that does it all, especially bring a smile to the owner's face!
July 18, 2008Surprisingly as much power as it's predecesor 7.3L the 6.0 can be a little short on low end torque but seems to handle a load just as well as the 7.3. The twin turbo would help.
March 15, 2008I had an 05, but I thoroughly enjoyed mine. It rode well, stopped well, pulled like a freight train, and was surprisingly decent at 11k feet in the Rocky Mountains.
June 6, 2022The look of this Truck is good, it is very comfortable to take on long trips. The quality of the build is alright it could use more room in the engine compartment so you can work on it easier. The maintainance costs are a little spendy but it is worth it if you are completing them on a reagular basis. The performance of the truck is awesome it has enough power to pull a 26 foot toy hauler out to a remote camping spot.
February 3, 2013If your getting a 3/4 ton truck, the diesel is the way to go. Hold their value very well compared to gas versions.
