power? this car is faster than most cars 230hp with 250tq at least that what the dealer says the cars were a lil bit under rated. acceleration may be a bit for some. braking is 4/5 and handling is better with mods lol my car id get 4/5 stock im not sure. build quality is ok things do look and feel like plastic so it is just ok. most people dont think the car looks good but i do as the srt4 neon looks 10x better than just regular neons. you will be putting high grade gas in this car so that can sometimes be a bit much. parts are cheap cause it being made in america. fun factor? 5/5 i love driving this car its quick enough for me and has a good after market part list. I loved this car! This car handled great, specially around corners. Zero to sixty is probably around 4.5 to 5.0 seconds. Fire red with TSW rims. Interior wise it had viper inspired bucket seats. It got great gas mileage, about 30 miles to the gallon on the highway. The only maintenance I did to it was a blow off valve and a cold air intake. This car was a blast to drive and I miss it.May 29, 2010

You want to go fast for cheap? This is your car. Not only is the car inexpensive, but the parts are too. I was able to make over 500hp and make a 1/4 mile pass of 11.4 in this car without touching any of the engine internals or doing any head work. This is car is a great learners car when it comes to learning how to drive a standard shift, as well as learning how to work on cars yourself.Oct 31, 2009

Performance is awesome. Kick you in the butt torque right out the box. Acceleration is like going hyper sonic + warp speed. Braking is decent with any 2 pistol caliper. Handling is scary if you don't know what you're doing. Engine is built like Hercules chest. Can't say the same about the interior. Squeaks and rattles the interior due to solid mounts and plastic interior. Appearance..well thats subjective, I think it looks pretty mean. Gas mileage is banggin' if you can keep you foot off the GO-Pedal, maintenance can be a pain (boost leaks) but it's fun to fix..makes you know your car inside n' out. Is the car fun to drive? If you're looking for an inexpensive, practical 4-dr car that will punch $5-10K above its price range, and are willing to compromise a bit of comfort (compared to a Civic, RSX, etc), the SRT-4 should definitely be on your list. I bought my SRT-4 new in July 2005, and have since put over 42K miles on it. I've only had two problems with it: (1) Somewhere around 20K miles, an "ambient temperature sensor" went bad. It didn't affect driveability at all, but the Check Engine light came on so I took it in to the dealer, and they fixed it at no cost under my extended warranty. (2) At approx. 40K miles, one of the ignition wires burned out. The dealer replaced all four wires, at a cost $110 (inc. labor). Overall, the car has been great to own. It's a blast to drive. It's fast, handles well, brakes well, and gets decent mileage if you don't drive like a psychopath. I've averaged 21 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The seats do get a bit uncomfortable on long rides (3+ hrs) and some of the interior materials are cheap, but what do you expect for $22K car that will hit 60 MPH in under six seconds and top out at over 145 MPH? The SRT guys had to save $$$ somewhere. The back seat is usable for normal-sized adults for short to medium-length trips, and the trunk can hold a decent amount of stuff. Overall, the interior is very functional and has held up very well. A side benefit to owning an SRT-4 is that you won't see one on every corner. Dodge only built somewhere between 30-40K of them over three years. You'll get the inevitable "it's a Neon" comments, but who cares? As a new car, it was the fastest and most practical car I could buy in 2005, and I think it holds up well as a used car. One final tip: don't buy a heavily modified SRT-4 unless you are VERY sure of the quality and reliability of the mods. Try to find a stock SRT and modify it yourself. Mine is still under warranty, so the only mods I've done are springs (1.25" lowering), 18" wheels/tires, a 3" cat-back exhaust, and a K&N air filter. Dec 30, 2008

All Neons leak when it rains. They all leak through the back taillights because the seal isn't tight. This is easily fixable. Gas mileage is absolutely amazing, about 35 on highway. Maintenance isn't too bad. It doesn't do too bad with acceleration, the brakes squeak all the time though which is also common with neons. Handling is amazing. When I hit two coyotes this summer, the front bumper flexed and slightly cracked so the build isn't too bad. I love the interior of it, its what I look for, its nice and clean.Oct 01, 2008

Its a neon on steroids, and it gets the job done. performance wise its awesome. the turbo really makes it scoot. People say its just a neon, and i say well good job. you are right. Its a fun car to drive and not that expensive to maintain. Well, tires are hard to keep on it haha. it could use a little help in the handling department, but theres always aftermarket parts for that. Sep 19, 2008

Not much to hate about this car! Amazing power which is complimented by its sound and looks. There are a few things that can get annoying like one its FWD which in turn will cause you to have some serious torque steer and lose of traction. Then again nothing wrong with a little shameless wheel spin. The best thing about this car is when people rag on you for driving a Neon all you have to do is down shift this girl and take off, once they catch up to you then you can say yeah not to bad for a Neon eh?
