The 2004 Saturn VUE SUV made several improvements to form and function from the previous year. First, Saturn upgraded the V6 trims from the 181 hp, 3.0 L to a more powerful 250 hp, 3.5 L. The VUE seats 5 and its interior leaves plenty of room to spare. Options include power sunroof, an Onstar telecom system, and XM satellite radio.
Overall, the 2004 Saturn VUE SUV represented a landmark moment where the consumer spoke and the company listened. Saturn added power and finesse to a strong foundation. Overall, there's really nothing I don't like about my 2004 Saturn Vue. I especially like how my car has quick pick up from a stopped position at a red light to a green light. No hesition.
If someone asked me one thing I could change on my Saturn I would say place the clutch and brake pedal a bit further from each other.

The functionality of the AWD V6 Saturn Vue is nothing short of amazing. It gives the versatility of an AWD utility vehicle without the over-the-top size that makes you feel as though you are driving a mini school bus (lol). The Saturn brand holds a special place in the heart of several customers though its no longer around, but the viability of General Motors puts the mind at ease about obtaining parts for it. All in all, the Saturn provides a lot for the money particularly if you want to spend less than $10k.Nov 15, 2013

The 2004 six cylinder Saturn Vue All Wheel Drive is a joy to drive. Its a wonderful car with pleasant touches. AWD feature is great during times of inclement weather. The utility of the Saturn Vue is probably its best feature combined with its gas mileage.Nov 08, 2013

The 2004 Saturn VUE is a car with a lot of potential. Unfortunately it does not live up to that potential. The acceleration and handling are very good thanks to the CVT transmission, which was new only to the 2004 model. You don't get the hurky jerky shifting when you push down on the pedal, just responsive, smooth acceleration. HOWEVER, should the transmission fail (mine did....twice) good luck finding a replacement. Ultimately it is an okay car if it holds up. It is what I would call a very average car. It's not flashy or anything, butr it gets me from point A to Point B. Gas mileage is par. Hardly much room if you wanna bring the family and it has power issues from time to time.Jul 02, 2013

The Redline Vue has a Honda engine and transmission, with a handful of great other features this is a great find. Plastic doors, panels and other body parts make it fairly impervious to dings, dents and other normal parking wear and tear. The engine is a great one for this size of car.Apr 16, 2013

I like this car because it has a great engine and descent power. It is a redline edition which has a slightly lowered suspension and sportier more aggressive look than a traditional Vue. It has been the most trouble free car I've owned yet. Mar 11, 2013

I love the space on this car. I am a mom of 4 so baseball season or a trip to the beach there is plenty of room for everything. Great on all weather. Plenty of leg room on the front and back. Very good on fuel.

It's actually a Saturn Vue with the Redline performance package. Which includes a 250 HP Honda VTEC V6 , Transmission with a performance selection, lowered suspension and 18" wheels. It is very fun to drive and can be scary at times too.... spun the 18" wheels on dry pavement doing 60 km/h while speeding up through a yellow at an intersection. Looks mean, especially from the front. Gets good gas mileage if you stay out of the VTEC. Jan 07, 2011

I really don't have any complaints. This is a pretty well built car. The acceleration, braking are pretty good. It does what I need it to do. The handling is to be expected from an SUV. It's top-heavy for a really light SUV. It weighs 3260 lbs. My friends 1998 Hyundai Accent weighs 3163 lbs. Im rough on cars. This car can take a beating like no other. I've hit cars, and received no damage. The only dent i have is when a garage door fell on my car. but the dent is about 3 inches, at most. The scratch and dent resistant side panels are the best things invented. The only repairs I've done to the car are: replace a wheel baring, replace the transmission and clutch, and the windshield wiper system (fuse, relay and switch). Also , this is a relatively inexpensive car to own. I've owned the car for 2.5 years and the repair cost is less then $1500. I don't pay out the ass for gas either. $40 to fill and i can go 400 miles on a single tank, if I drive like a human. If not my tank lasts about 330 miles. All in all, I love this car. Aug 10, 2010

It only has a four cylinder so it doe not have much
power, but luckily it is a 5-speed. It gets good gas
mileage, and does not cost much to maintain. It is

Shame on you Saturn. They promised that Saturn
never changes their prices and never has to deal with
rebates and crap. 6 month after buying the car Saturn
had for the first time ever an Employee rebate for
everyone, we lost $5k. I will never own another Saturn
again, ever. I never thought that a new car could give

Pick up is good if you have the V6, but the car totally sucks in the winter cause 80% of the body of the vehicle is plastic and is put together like a lego car. I would not recommend this car to a friend just for the simple reason that it is very hard to customize!Aug 08, 2008

It's ok for getting around, but not well built. The suspension makes a lot of noise and the electric steering is not very good. Parts that should last 100K+ miles have been replaced at 40-60K.
They used a great Honda engine and transmission, but they put such small lubricant reservoirs they are both "starving for oil/fluid" requiring more frequent maintenance. The brakes tend to warp the small rotors after about 15-20K miles.
The interior is nice leather and no problems with it or the electronics so far. Lots of space for a small SUV so we can hall the kiddo, friends and stuff comfortably.
Unfortunately, this is probably the last American engineered car we'll buy since our previous 3 or 4 had a lot of problems as well. It's a decent automobile, but when you drive over bumps in a car with only 40K miles it shouldn't sound like it is falling apart.
Saturn used to have their "own models", but now GM is making it just like all the rest of their brands. The Vue is also the Chevy Equinox and Pontiac Torrent with just a different face. Jul 09, 2008

This car is comfy, has leather seats, and is bright blue, a really pretty blue if you ask me. The handling is good in terms of SUV handling, and the AWD is a must for winter driving. Sixteen-inch alloy wheels are durable. The problem is the strut suspension... it tends to squeak in warm conditions.Jan 04, 2008
