This truck is downright amazing in bad weather and less than favorable conditions and the ride is always smooth and responsive. The Trail Edition is a pretty rare find as far as trim packages go on these sweet discos. Overall build quality and performance is nothing short of the exceptional standard I have come to expect from Land Rover. This is the third discovery I have owned and by far the most capable and practical car I've known, the last run of this body style was just miles better than the previous series of discovery.Feb 12, 2015

This 2004 Land Rover HSE was a sturdy vehicle, and always got me where I wanted to go, no matter the weather conditions. The vehicle was a the Chawton White with black accents. The hydraulic step was nice, and the cargo room is unbeatable. These models also had the large cargo door that opens from the side.Oct 09, 2014

One of the most capable off road vehicles in the world! Great Military inspired styling which stands out from crowd of trucks, jeeps and new age cross overs. The Fuel mileage could be better. The bottom line... if you want a luxury SUV that can take you to the ends of the earth in comfort, style, with AC blasting and the Harman Karden Sound System, there is nothing better suited or more rugged.May 27, 2014

Very well maintained by previous owners, got it for a good price... Haven't owned for little less than a month, but so far, Michigan winter has been awful and I have not been stuck anywhere I have traveled. The only problem I have is that it is a gas hog!! After some research, maintenance I hear gets pretty costly for dealership only so if you plan on having one, make sure you know a really trustworthy mechanic!Feb 18, 2014

Great truck, can't beat it for the money. Who needs those Jeeps anyway? The heated windshield and heated seats are great. The AWD makes it handle great in the corners and you have a diff lock to lock both the front and rear axles. On top of that it has traction control and ABS.Dec 11, 2013

I have personally owned two Land Rover Discovery's and would recommend them to anyone. I fell in love with my first one in Dec of 2010 and someone hit me and totalled it out. I bought a newer model in Feb of 2013 and fell in love with it all over again. They are very good looking SUV's and so sharp to see passing by. The only disadvantage I would throw out there is the gas mileage. If you are looking for something that gets 25-30 mpg this is not the vehicle for you. I get about 14 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway. Other than that I have no complains!Jun 13, 2013

The performance is not bad for an SUV. the off road performance is excellent. build quality is great. ther are no rattles after 41,000 miles, the only repair thus far has been a gas cap replacement. fuel mileage is rated at 12 mpg, it will average 17 mpg if you drive it easy. it is a good looking vehicle, feels very solid to drive. it hadles pretty goood and is fun to drive, especially off the beaten path. Performance - Awesome day 2 day car! Great off road!
Build Quality - Minor maintenance but its worth it!
Appearance - Love the exterior and interior especially after my aftermarket touches!
Cost of Ownership - Costly repairs cuz its a British car, gas is expensive (premium) and low gas mileage but once again its worth it those rnt breakin points 2 me!
Fun Factor - Extremely fun 2 drive especially off road! Easiest car 2 drive out of all the cars i have eva driven!

This is an unasuming vehicle. Moderate acceleration, braking and handling. But it's a snow car, can drive it anywhere - mountains, off-road, wade through 2 feet of water with no problem. A decent cruiser once back in the highway. Mechanical repairs are spendy though - even the dealers' mechanics are hit and miss.Sep 16, 2009

Land Rover Disco 3 wont run after alternator change
Hi, I have a Disco 3 2008. I was travelling in Mozambique and the alternator went bad and drained the battery. I had to get the vehicle towed back to SA. The garage changed the alternator but the car won't run since! He says the on-board computer needs reprogramming. It was running fine on a fully charged battery it just drained fast so we could not take the risk of driving it out. Anyone have an idea please?
