As soon as I start driving this vehicle, I felt special, because of the handling, the sporty joy of driving and the luxury feel. I lost so many years to the unnecessary gas guzzling SUV‘s that I bought. This car feels proper. The gas mileage you get is phenomenal. Dec 03, 2023

One has to be aware of known issues with these Jaguars and accept them - the sagging headliners, the timing belt maintenance intervals, high frequency front brake pads replacement, and air suspension issues. Great car, fantastic ride and cannot beat the value for a touring sedan of this quality. Dec 29, 2022

This is the Standard Length Model & Im Partial to The XJ8 L The Long Bodied Models With Bigger Trunks. Larger Interiors, Etc. The Longer Models Tend To Have A Greater Safety Level Than The Standard Length JAGUARS Too. There Is Something Far More Appealing About A Land Yatch As Well, In My Eyes & In My Hands. This car is wonderful to own. It's a classic and elegant automobile, it's not a car per se!
Great performance and handling. Extraordinary comfort at all speeds.
Not for everyone as it's maintenance cost can be a serious drawback unless you strictly follow the maintenance schedule. I love it!Mar 13, 2015

This car is fast, just as fast as my 06 sts-v that was also supercharged, however this xjr rides SOOOO mush better, so smooth even with the very small sidewall tires which usually give a car a harsh ride. This thing as incredible torque, 18 piston brembo brakes so it stops better than anything I have ever driven. OK, so performance is great, ride is great, and handling is very sharp. Styling is very old school, but with refreshments to it doesn't look to bad. It is a blast to drive, i never had so many people pull up to me in traffic and tell me "wow, that's a nice car". There are drawbacks, not a spacious inside as you would expect from the largest car jaguar makes, it has the upgrades stereo, however it is unimpressive, and doesnt even have an aux input for ipod or anything, yet it has navigation.Oct 13, 2013

Finally got an XJ! 4.2 V8, but the aluminium body makes it no heavier on fuel than my previous 3.0 V6 X Type. Hit the sport button and this car really shifts. Big and comfy, superb handling. It's a big car but it somehow shrinks around you when you drive it. I'm in love!Jan 16, 2013

Had a 1998 XJ8L previous to this one and thought it was fast-but the Supercharged XJR is awesome!! Really fun to drive. FAST!! and INCREDIBLE acceleration. 2 tvs, hydraulics, satellite radio, EVERYTHING automatic, built in sensors for closeness, built in GPS Beautiful to look at and even better to drive=V8.Apr 20, 2010

Ferociously fast, hugely comfortable, and enjoyably understated, the XJR never ceases to surprise and impress me with its blend of traditional Jaguar styling and contemporary engineering. The aluminium body makes it remarkably agile for a big car, and motorways are dispatched with disdain. It's not a cheap car to maintain with 20" wheels, enormous brakes and a thirst for petrol, but it is undoubtedly entirely worth the investment.Jan 24, 2010

The car is beautiful, fun to drive, and performs (when it works) but it's in the shop all the time so we have to give only 2 stars. Jaguar cars still have the mechanical problems of the past and it makes it a problem for fans of the cars. You have to have a second car to use to own a vandenplas from the 2004 year. This car has been in the shop more than 60 days in the past year. We love the way the car drives when it works, sadly it doesn't work well often. Jul 04, 2009

I still shake my head at why the car devalues so fast. This
car was totally re engineered in 2004 and it doesn't have
any weaknesses. I really can't think of any complaints
even if Ford sold them to Tata. Tata has some deep

I don't like the sporadic warning light flashing up for no reason - I have to take it to the dealer to get it turned off...A known problem with Jaguar, I hear.
I just love the smooth, comfortable ride in my car. Perhaps I just grew up but I wouldn't swap it for any sporty job!Jun 12, 2008
