Essence Of Family — A very driver friendly auto with just enough creature comforts to make any trip pleasant. The instrument cluster is easy to read the power features are essential(especially pedals) and seating with reclining bench and fold away third seat is delightful. Overall, it is a pleasure driving this vehicle locally and long distance. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: keyless entry, roomy, stow away 3rd row seat. Cons: a bit under -powered. no rear air conditioner(front works rather well) ![]() Looking for a Used Freestar in your area?CarGurus has 109 nationwide Freestar listings starting at $1,745. |

Best Mini Van Ford Made — It's a shame they no longer make this van. This was an incredibly reliable van, well built, awesome power/handling. We hauled 7 people + luggage in this van and it was a comfortable trip. I honestly don't think Toyota even comes close to the performance of this van. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: This is the best mini van you can get, served my family well for quite awhile. Cons: No real cons on this van. |

Overall Nice But Needed Improvements — while fuel economy is all that counts today, this van looks after safety and comfort, although the van has issues it is an all and all good buy. but get a carfax before buying...ford need to return in the minivan race... i hate dodge caravans and the rice vans are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!! Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: good engine access and cargo space... Cons: fuel tank is a monster!!!! |

Serves Its Purpose — The ONLY way to own a minivan is with a 4.2L V6. Decent performance, relatively good handling. Mileage could be better. Handles slick roads very well. Not the "coolest" ride but works great for transporting the kids and their friends or even hauling cargo with the seats folded down. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Roomy Cons: Cool factor of -1 |

Solid Minivan! — I bought this minivan for a good price with low kms on it and did I get a bargain. This van has great performance, handles like a car and has lots of room for all of our stuff. The stowaway third seat is very handy. The only downside is that the 4.2L six is a little thirsty if your have a heavy foot like I do. Pros: Performance, Utility, Stereo Cons: Gas Mileage |

Our Family Freestar — I love the amenities it has and the way it drives and how comfortable it is. I also love that one seat is a stow and go seat. I hate that it only seats 8, that it is such a gas hog. I also wish it had more stow and go seats. Pros: Great all around car. Cons: Needs more seats and to be more economic. |
