* Performance - after a 1,6 benzin engine it is a reall dream
* Build Quality - has it needed repairs? squeaks/rattles
* Appearance - From interior it is made for chikdren endurance and from exterior it's fresh young styling
* Cost of Ownership - i both it at age of the car 4 not it has 5 and consumpotion is in downtown 8,3l/100Km and on the road 5,6l/100Km
* Fun Factor - Whit its 136HP diesel engine it is a rela fun to drive

Generally a good drive with a sporty feel. 1.6 TDCI powerplant derived from Peugeots HDi gives surprisingly good accelleration and if driven carefully can achieve 60mpg on a run. Zetec trim gives A/C, elec front and C/L etc. Very roomy and practical. Dec 16, 2008

My car goes very well and it has loads of space for a young family.As its a turbo its quick of the mark but it tends to roll around islands.
The top dashboard compartement sometimes rattles give it a bang and it stops.It tends to eat the front tyres so be aware

Bilen er faktisk en rigtig god familie bil - dejlig nem og have med at gøre og nem at "læsse" børnene ind i denne.

The worst investment i ever made. Had this car from 3 months old (ex demo) and in the time i owned it, it felt like it was on timeshare with the dealership. So many problems from loose and quickly worn trim to electronic problems which resulted in one episode of car being at dealers for 6 weeks while we waited for an alternator. Dealer wouldnt offer us courtesy car, so had to buy a £100 runaround till it came back. On the plus side, performance (When it was running) was outstanding. 2.0 Tdci had 136bhp and 6 gears, never stood around for long and for its time, one of the prettier looking fords.Jul 27, 2008

Huge boot! Easy access for kiddie seats in the back. Removable seats give large load bay and loads of seating combinations. Thoroughly recommended as a family car. Let's hope the tax hike doesn't destroy being able to drive it often!Jul 11, 2008

Ford C-Max Gear Change Cable problems
I've had a problem with the Gear Change cables that run from the Gear lever to the Gearbox. The cable(s) seem to come adrift from the mechanism (car gets stuck in whatever gear you were in) that hold the cables at the gearbox end, also there seems to be a lot of play in the gear lever so when first is selected the gear lever almost returns to the centre. The ball joint (at the gear lever end) also releases itself from the universal joint (that ones that controls the up / down movement) meaning that you suddenly again get stuck in the gear you are in (until you re-attatch it). The only way to re-attatch the cable at the gearbox end is to thread your hand up under the engine until you locate the cable and then put it back on the v-fork arrangment. Anyway I've bought a new cable (£86 !!!) and in an effort to save some money I've been to a couple of local garages who were both unsure how much effort it would take to replace the cable and that they would have to have a look to see if they even wanted to attempt it! So my questions are, does anybody now how hard a job this is, has anybody experienced the same problem, any general advice ? Regards Gary.

Hi, While running changing the gear from 3 to 2 or 1 is not smooth. Is it a problem with all Cmax cars?
