In my opinion the best car ever made. Passats fit like a glove. Powerful and precise. Its was something youd want to own from new to maintain and keep running how you want it. I had two of these. The first was a manual V6. Very fast and I crashed. Saved out life. Incredible chassis. Handled better than most modern cars. I actually had a couple 2002 but theyre the same. The second was a ultra rare W8 4 motion. They stole it. Literally pride of my life. When people ask me what my favorite car was, I told them a Passat W8 manual 4 motion. Incredible, really. So stiff. Stiffest chassis in the world I think. Wonderful car. Wondering how they could have made it better? Made the W8 Reliable like my tdi mk6 golf. Thats how. And put boost to kt. But thats it. |

Polly Nice Clean Looking Ride. — The passat with a 1.8 Turbo Handles like a dream. Not quite a cutting diamond kind of ride. Never lose the key will cost $200.00 bucks to replace. Must burn high test to keep the turbo running. Also needs synthitic oil. Oh well costs a few more bucks to keep running but worth it for the smooth ride. And sleek look. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Nice smooth ride. Cons: Must burn high test. |

Great Car! — A great car for Colorado weather. It takes on rain, snow, sleet, hail and everything in between and delivers the goods. With good mileage this car was just right for my family. We would definately recommend the Passat to others. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Solid car for my use. Takes on the snow beautifully. Cons: Dealers service fees are exhorbitant! |

Take Care Of The Car And It Will Take Care Of You — I love this car, its looks, its handling, its reliability, being honest, I've spent a lot of money on this car, but in my opinion it is worth it, all of its luxurious features, it is an Audi with a VW badge. I totally recomend this car... if you are willing to take good care of it Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: fun to drive, great handling, I love the European looks, best VW generation, big cargo capacity, Cons: like all German cars, expensive maintenance, but worth it, |

Excellent All Around Family Vehicle — I bought my 2003 gls wagon with 1.8 T 10 yrs ago. I have since put 105,000 miles on it. Perhaps the best car I have ever owned. replaced front axels( CV boots damaged) $400, Brakes and rotors $350, thermostat $400, timing belt and water pump replaced $1200. $2400 maintenence averaged over 10 plus years is not so bad. Car is still fun to drive and is solid as a rock. Steering ,handling and braking are excellent. Just a very well built solid car that does a lot of things very well. Still looks superb. There are an awful lot of these cars around where I live so they seem to holding up very well Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: fun to drive, steering wheel is awesome. perfect family car. solidly built. Cons: premium gas is a drag. key fob has lost some functions |

A Well Engineered Piece — I like all the thought and knowledge that went into making this car a true technological marvel of it's day The all wheel drive system performs seamlessly , always reining the car in under slippery conditions . The 270 HP 4.0 W-8 motor really delivers the power. All around safe car! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: powerful , predictable performance. Car has an excellent cornering and handling ability Cons: I can't really say anything bad, this car is an able performer in many respects. |

Buy A Standard! — Loved It. Drove it easily since the dealer rode with us, but I know it had great torque. It was a bit too expensive for a 10 year old car, but so fun to drive. The car was clean as a whistle on the interior except for the little ash tray or some kind of compartment for the backseat on the console. Car was a blast to drive. Standards are the way to go, but not many people know how to drive them anymore. Teach your kids/friends! Pros: cleanliness Cons: I couldn't buy it |

10/10 — It's a 1.9TDi engine with 131bhp, overall it provides great acceleration. Build quality is quite good, hardly done anything to it. It's the highline edition of it, so interior and exterior looks great. The cost of ownership is not that good, it doesn't have great fuel economy, maintenance is quite pricey. The car is definitely great and quite fun to drive. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Appearance is good, great engine, wouldn't change it. Cons: Running costs. |
