All Around Jam Up Truck! — I love the power this truck has. I also like the fact that it doesn't slump when under load. I drove the truck back and forth to work, and it got about 18 mpg. This truck is in really good condition, especially for being 12 years old. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Excellent room for hauling people. Plenty of room in the bed for hauling, plenty of power for towing, and very good interior for a 12 year old truck! Safety in this vehicle is phenomenal! Protected against almost any threat on the road. Cons: Ride comfort is not that great unless it has a few thousand pounds to weigh it down. A little more noise from the motor than I would like. |

Great Daily Driver! — The truck is very solid, and has never seen a full winter. It spent most of its time in Virginia while I owned it, and it came out of either one of the Carolina's or somewhere south before I got it. Runs good, and is very comfortable! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Very reliable and a sharp looking vehicle. Cons: Some dents on right side of bed. |

The Brute — A brute on the farm and on the long hauls for cargo moving. Pulls a good deal of weight (have had 5 tons on trailers). Noise can be a factor on long hauls, but when you need the power you can't beat it. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) Pros: Good mileage on long hauls, great handling off road. Comfortable, good view through windows and mirrors. Cons: Noisy but that’s to be expected with such large tires. Engine can be noisy on the long hauls. |

It's A Keeper — Our truck was ordered with the 7.3 Powerstroke, a 6 speed stick shift, 4x4, 4:10 gears, and the dually package. She is a stump pulling beast, with a 20% overdrive that will let the truck cruise effortlessly at highways speeds. It is an XLT which is the mid-line trim, however it was optioned similar to a Lariat, except with cloth seats. We have the the dual 6 way power captains chairs and the center storage, which is no longer available with a stick shift transmission. The truck was ordered with the HD trailer tow package which included an HD class III hitch. Someone goofed and ordered a wrecker package which is weird for a pick-up with a dually bed on it. It added the PTO on the transmission and a digital throttle control, which I may use at a later time to run a generator. I added a B&W gooseneck hitch, and a B&W Companion 5th wheel adaptor which plugs into the gooseneck hitch. This truck is undoubtly the most capable tow vehicle that I have ever driven. We tow a 5th wheel camper, a large sport boat, a race car trailer with a classic show car, and for work we tow a hydrolic dump trailer capable weighing 12,500 lbs loaded. The truck has been very dependable and has never let us down in over ten years of ownership. The only complaint that I have is that the brake rotors are made out of soft materal and warped at 36K miles. The original pads still looked new, but the rotors were shot. We replaced the rotors with aftermarket cryo treated units from Powerslots, and used Hawk's Super Duty pads. The brakes have not given any more problems. One item that is very important is to never forget to add the required yearly Ford conditioner to the cooling system. It prevents acid formation in the anti freeze mixture which will damage the engine block over time. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) Pros: Great truck! Very stable and safe. Wonderful tow vehicle. Cons: Brake rotors are made out of cheap materials, and warp quickly |

Awesome! — I bought this truck 3 years ago and it has been a joy to own. Some people say it is overkill, but I believe overkill is underrated. The maintenance can be expensive, but if you take good care of it, it will take good care if you. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: It is everything I want in a truck. Cons: It has the turn radius of a U-boat. |

Great To Have, But Not Good For A Everyday Driver — Great to have and a huge work horse, but not a good every day driver for work. Fuel costs are high and after the warranty is up, parts and maintenance can get expensive. It saves a lot of money if you can work on diesel engines yourself. Not a sports car for sure but with a few upgrades you can really tap into the Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Get for hauling and Towing Cons: Fuel costs |

Awesome Truck!! — Absolutely love this truck. Very reliable, lots of power, great for towing trailers and it's very spacious and comfortable. It gets about 16L/100Km (Diesel) which is great for such a big truck. The only complaint I have about owning a diesel, is the cost of an oil change...if I do it myself it costs about $100 CDN if I take it to a shop it's over $150... Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) Pros: Great power and very comfortable Cons: Avoid this truck if you don't like BIG and NOISY |
