Truck was in excellent shape. I wanted to buy it, but my financing did not come through. To whoever gets it, that truck has been gone over backwards and forwards.

Ive worked a Ford dealership for 20 years and I know the pros and cons of these trucks. This truck has the looks and metal that I demand. I was looking for a truck under $10,000 and this one feel in my lap. I live in the northeast and dependably and reliably is a must. This truck delivers that . My needs were mostly basic. 4x4, AC, extended cab, 8 or 6 cylinder engine, A/T. I got all that and more. For the price($5995) I got the Lariat crew cab model which has leather seats, sunroof , exterior trim package. All in all more than I was looking for. I cant compare it with any other manufacturer of the same F150 Lariat model. I think this 2001 truck was at the top of the class.

Overall I Like The Truck But Its Costing A Lot Of Money. However I Did Get It Used. — I like my truck but the motor it has in it is known to leak oil out of the passenger head gasket. I just fixed mine. I got my truck out of the woods. It was stripped pretty good and the windows were busted out. I'm getting it back to normal. One day it will be the way it should be. It's costing quite a bit of money. however I'm fixing it myself so I'm saving a lot of money.

Pros: great fuel mileage for a full size truck.

Cons: It doesn't have very much power.

Excellent, Reliable Truck — Always started, smooth ride, got about 17 mpg in town if I drove it gently. Never had a leak or knock. Passenger window would stick using driver control, but worked fine on the passenger side. I just had to push extra hard on the button on the drivers side and it still worked fine. Radio occasionally would turn up really loud on its own. Figured out if I just hit the mute, then hit it again, it stopped it. Not sure what's up with that. Love the 4 door model instead of the 3 with the extended cab. This one didn't have much rust, but Fords are notorious for rusting out everywhere. Ran like a top and easy to work on yourself, which was my favorite part), although I ended up not needing to. Sold my last 1998 Ford F150 XLT with 367,000 miles on it and never had a stitch of trouble with that engine either. Bought the 2001 and no trouble with that one. Wanted to replace with a Ford F150 XLT 4WD but couldn't find any so I settled for a Chevy ;-(.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Solid engine, smooth ride, gas mileage not bad for a truck

Cons: passenger window sticks when using driver control, radio turns up on its own

We Love It. — we love our ford f-150 4x4 4 door we use it on the farm and as a car its so nice, with the 5.4 eng in it and the auto tranny she gets great gas mileage. the kids can get in and out of the back seat easy and the dogs can to. the 4x4 works great in the mudd or the snow we have had no trouble and she has 187000 mile on it now. good job ford.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: a nice truck all the way

Cons: no cons

Good Truck — This is a truck that doesn't try to be anything that it isn't, it has decent power for a V6, and can haul people and cargo well. No unnecessary equipment, and handles like a luxury car. If you need a truck that works hard and isn't flashy or overpowered, this is a good option. Good truck overall especially for work.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Impressive power, comfortable interior, great ride, reliable

Cons: Body is prone to rust
