2001 Chevy Prizm Review. — This has been a very reliable and excellent economy mode of transportation. In the 11 years that I have had the car I an count the mechanical issues on one hand. Even the recommended maintenance for operation is very reasonable and economical.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very economical to run. Great gas mileage. Great reliability.

Cons: Built for economy. Could use refinement.

Good Car For Around Town Not Really A Long Trip Car. — Overall good car. Road noise is tiring after long trip. Car always started in the coldest weather. Battery lasted 9 years in the car. Tires lasted long time. Took car a long trip one time and had to keep an eye on oil with extended periods of 75 mph driving.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Reliable car great on gas and easy to maintain.

Cons: Low on power, significant road noise.

Great Car — When I bought this car from Saturn of Rochester, it had only had one previous owner. It was in great shape with hardly any miles on it. It continued to be a great car for me for the 2 years that I owned it.. Great gas mileage, great performance, with no major break-downs.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Nice car for traveling and back and forth to work.

Cons: A little small

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: short trips, commuting to/from work

Cons: small trunk space, not comfortable for long trips

Chevy Prizm = Ahhhhhh! — It has been in and out of the shop ever since I got it. Obviously I'm not expecting a fantastic car or anything, but it is awful. Horrible acceleration, have had the brakes changed twice in two years, it's always talking back to me, and it just isn't an enjoyable ride. However, gas mileage is fantastic.... which is the only reason I haven't barreled it into the side of a wall at this point.

Pros: Good gas mileage

Cons: ...Everything else.

Good Gas Mileage — my wife bought this new in 2001. it's been very reliable, and it gets about 37 mpg freeway. so that's good, since we do a bit of driving. it's got a bit of pep for a wimpy 4-cylinder. not flashy. very practical and boring.

Pros: great gas mileage (~37 mpg)

Cons: it's a chevy prism

2001 Prizm Lsi Reliable, Econimical Transportation — Bought this car car in May of 2004 with only 25K on it. It's a typical 4 door sedan, identical to the Toyota Corolla, but with a lower sticker price. The LSi package came with keyless entry, power locks, windows, and mirrors which have been a convenience over the years. The car has great visibility with no noticeable blind spots. Other than tires, battery, brakes, etc. the car has required no major repairs. Over the past 10 years, I have commuted to and from work over 300 miles a week on less than 10 gallons of gas. It"s a fairly simple, straight forward wehicle that is easy to service. It handles well with all-season tires. Steering, handling and acceleration have all been adequate for my mainly highway driving.. The car is not a showy, "fun to drive" sporty looking car, but a practical , dependable economical vehicle ideal for commuting.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Reliable, economical, great on gas, roomy trunk

Cons: Front seats lack sufficient lumber support on long trips

A Good First Car Or A Car For A Person With Simple Needs. Great On Gas Mileage. By Patrick
