I Love This Vehicle But The Matinence And Gas Kills My Walllet. — I have fallen in love with the blazer but im at the point of giving up on her as I have repaired quite a bit on her in a year. She is big she is rugged and she is fun to drive. I love the handling but do not love the maintenance costs lol.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I enjoy the size and capacity for my family as well as how it handles.

Cons: Cost of repairs is definitely way high compared to other vehicles ive had. MPG is not exactly the best but its been reliable to and from my destinations.

Very Reliable. — I drove this Blazer for ten years and was very satisfiaded with it. I had an oppurtunity to purchase a full size pickup with low miles so I did. I am getting ready to retire and wanted something with more space to haul things otherwise I would have continued to drive the Blazer until it gave up on me.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Car was very reliable, drove myself for 10 years. It has not used oil between oil changes. Low mileage for the year. Very good interior.

Cons: Rocker panels and rear fenders rusting badly,  hood clearcoat is coming off.

Good 2001 Chevy Blazer — I liked it but i nee a truck now because i need to be able to tow things around my house and the blazer wont do the job. I liked the car while i had it but it needs a new owner.

Pros: Nice stereo system, handles well, good mpg

Cons: some carpet damage

Good, If You Like To Constantly Work On Something. — I like the space, handling, and design of the vehicle. The ability to access more in the motor without having to remove everything would be nice. Electrical problems seem to be rampant in it because of the closeness of other parts and heat transference.

Pros: The space is great.

Cons: The upkeep is horrible.

Nice Lookin 4x4 Blazer Who's Only Problem Is That It Was Built By Chevy. — Performance-crap engine very slow due to vacuum leaks Build Quality- Its a chevy.....junker build qulity, cheap parts, cheap plastic, rattles and squeaks. Appearance- Looks nice Cost of Ownership- Very high very bad gas mileage it IS NOT a fun vehicle to drive except off road.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Its a good 4x4(cept the 4x4 dont work but it DID work good)\
Decent vehicle if it worked but it doesnt cuz its a domestic

Cons: Gas mileage, power, build quality, 4x4 reliability

Great Untill 120,000 — It is a stylish s.u.v. with some nice options...ie power everything and moonroof. Maintenance was fairly routine until 120,000 since then its been a rebuild. Transmission, fuel pump, radiator, control arms, struts, the list goes on. Im fairly happy but at 155000 im ready to move on.

Pros: Great truck in the snow. It has a higher ride because of the z71 package.

Cons: Front end tears through suspension because of oversized wheels.

Love This Car. — Blazers sometimes have check engine light problems that goes off for no reason. Mine hates highways. The seats are comfortable, ride is nice. Takes corners like a boss. Outruns my friend's Honda. Gas mileage is average. Has good looks, nice interior. Takes the snow pretty decent for not being too heavy and having 2WD.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Its fast as hell for an SUV

Cons: Goddam check engine light.

Chevy Did Their Homework Putting The Extreme Together. Major Props! — I bought my Extreme in 2001 brand new, and have not had 1 major problem. So when I paid it off in 2005, there was no reason to purchase another car. After saying all the money from no car-payments, and miles of road-trips to California. I fell in love with it all over again. It was worth every penny to rebuild, and upgrade the Vortex engine. It still has the original paint job, and the interior is flawless. My Exreme looks better then it did when I bought it brand new.To all the Camero's and Mustangs lovers (which you see every 3-5 cars), Don't come close to all the looks and compliments I get everyday rolling my ride. It is the last car I will purchase in a very long time, and with less then 20,000 miles on the rebuilt engine.I have no worries what so ever it will roll another 100,000 before I put it in the garage where it will sit until the day I die. NO WAY IN HELL..THERE IS NO SALE!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: The most reliable car I have ever driven, and worth every penny and more for what I purchase it for!

Cons: Not one at all!

Good, Reliable Suv — I love my Blazer! It is awesome! I bought it on April 16, 2009 with 114,000 miles and it now has 137,000 and have only had a problem once(fuel pump went out in Arkansas)! I have done a lot of personalizing on it:leather seat covers, wood dash kit, steering wheel cover, dash cover, new floor mats, custom headlights and front turn signals(not shown in picture), side window vents, fender vents, taillight trim, etc. My Blazer rides pretty well for an SUV, pulls up to 4000 pounds, runs strong, handles well, has pretty good acceleration, and gets decent mpg. Some things I do not like about it: no four wheel drive, 2 doors, lot of plastic(rattles on rough roads), sloped rear window(cuts into cargo space). It does not require much maintenance, just change the oil and check the fluids and such. Main cost is the fuel, it gets lower 20's on the highway and upper teens in town. Not a good city car. Likes open road! AMEN! Some things I would like to do to it in include a grill guard, running boards, rims off an upper model four door Blazer, and possibly a better quality wood dash kit. I would definetly recommend a Chevy Blazer, good build quality, reliable, powerful, and fun to drive(especially in the country). Would recommend the four door model over the two door. Rear access can be ackward and leg room is a little tight for really tall people( I am 6'2" and it is just right).Overall the Blazer is a great vehicle and I am a proud owner!

Pros: Powerful, fun, dependable

Cons: NONE!!!!
