My 00 Avy — This 00 avalon has been a great car, very reliable and a great family vehicle. A lot of fun to drive with a smooth drive and easy handling. Will definitely recommend the Avalon, and my next car should be another Avalon

Very Nice, I Would Buy And Drive Another If Wife Was Not Intent On A Newer Car. — Toyota does a nice job with this flagship mostly "American built" car. I can drive a Lexas equivalent without the sigma of a snobby car. And I am of the age (67) where comfort if more important than what the kids think. Alas, I upgraded to the 2008 when a neighbor backed into the driver's door.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I loved the way it drove and rode on long trips, best of 3 Avalons that I have owned..  The visibility out all drirections was excellent.

Cons: Disappointed when the big bass woofers paper cone disintegrated.  Rear shock bushings wore out and made for rear rattle when going over bumps, but the shock absorption continued.

Toyota Reliability — Love that V6 power, only problem is that it's front wheel drive. Fuel Usage is a bit higher that I'd like when I drive it, not too bad when my fiance drives. Car is quite fun to drive when you put your foot down

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fun to drive

Cons: Nothing

Overall A Very Nice Car — its pretty much the same as a lexus LS series, but without the lexus pricetag. extremely spacious, very comfortable ride. its a safe car for the year. i really enjoy driving it. the only problem ive had is finding a replacement subwoofer for it. the stock subs were only made for 2000 to 2004 avalons.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: great for moving people without the giant car feel

Cons: not enough hp for my taste

21st Century Humber Imperial — I've always admired the styling of 1960's British sedans: My Avalon reminds me of a 1965-7 Humber Imperial, albeit much better made and much better to drive. It's the luxury British saloon car my father couldn't afford. On the open highway, and even on city streets, it wafts along with an ease and quiet swiftness that makes travel a delight rather than a duty. It's not a sports car, and doesn't respond to the swift twisties like a smaller car would, but it has it's place in the cosmic scheme of urban and long distance travel.

Pros: Adequately big, smooth, gorgeous.

Cons: Not great on twisty mountain roads at speed

You Get More Than You Paid For!! — The 2000 Toyota Avalon that I drive we bought for about 10 grand four years, and has not needed any major engine work on it and it has just under 170,000 miles. THis Car has been notihing but good.

Pros: It has many options that people dont think your car would have, it has hidden features.

Cons: This car needs to yell out Lexus

Great Car Wotj 170k+ Miles — no complaints except for the leather on the gearshift, kind of worn. other than that and routine maintenance, going like a charm

My Second Avalon. I'll Get Another. — I will probably be a toyota driver until someone shows me a better car. back seat is huge, trunk handles everything i put into it and the pass through is the best idea in any car. leather upholstery is rugged and well sewn. best engine i've driven. i have 140k and it's just getting broken in. instrumentation is great. what else can i say?

Owner for 3 years, 0 months

Miles Driven per Year:12,000

Pros: great displays.  great engine and trans.  excellent sound system.
