On a 2000 Avalon, should I replace the water pump when the timing belt is replaced?
On a 2000 Avalon, should I replace the water pump when the timing belt is replaced? And what about the Tensioner belts? Should they be replaced as well?

The Toyota Avalon was redesigned for the 2000 model year, getting many high-end touches like a wood-trimmed interior with leather accents. The new Avalon came with an upgraded engine, roomier interior, and many more high end options to choose from, putting Toyota’s full-sized sedan on par with more expensive luxury brands like the Lexus.
The 2000 Toyota Avalon comes in two trim levels, the XL and the more luxurious XLS. Both trims come standard with a 3.0-liter, 210 horsepower V6 engine. The XL is nicely equipped, including cruise control, antilock breaks, and a number of other comfort features. The XLS includes a few more niceties, like an upgraded sound system, alloy wheels, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Fuel efficiency is 21/29 mpg.

The cars is alright, I except more from it. The first day I got it the car it didn’t want to start after I got it home. It needed a jump start, I am going to have to buy a new battery , which wasn’t in my budget. The car also has many minor body issues. Overall the car is okay, this is just my opinion about the car. Just drive slower in the winter so you dont crash this timeless beauty .
The Stereo is usually what goes first .

This 00 avalon has been a great car, very reliable and a great family vehicle. A lot of fun to drive with a smooth drive and easy handling. Will definitely recommend the Avalon, and my next car should be another Avalon May 11, 2014

Toyota does a nice job with this flagship mostly "American built" car. I can drive a Lexas equivalent without the sigma of a snobby car. And I am of the age (67) where comfort if more important than what the kids think. Alas, I upgraded to the 2008 when a neighbor backed into the driver's door.Jul 17, 2013

Love that V6 power, only problem is that it's front wheel drive.
Fuel Usage is a bit higher that I'd like when I drive it, not too bad when my
fiance drives.
Car is quite fun to drive when you put your foot down

The 2000 Toyota Avalon is one of the most useful and comfortable cars
out there. First, the car is one of the most comfortable cars to dirve on the
road. Second, it fits a good amount of people in the car and not being
cramped. Third, there is a lot of room for boxes and groceries in the
trunk. Fourth, the car is very reliable. Basically it is an overall good car if

its pretty much the same as a lexus LS series, but without the lexus pricetag. extremely spacious, very comfortable ride. its a safe car for the year. i really enjoy driving it. the only problem ive had is finding a replacement subwoofer for it. the stock subs were only made for 2000 to 2004 avalons.Aug 09, 2009

I've always admired the styling of 1960's British sedans: My Avalon reminds me of a 1965-7 Humber Imperial, albeit much better made and much better to drive. It's the luxury British saloon car my father couldn't afford. On the open highway, and even on city streets, it wafts along with an ease and quiet swiftness that makes travel a delight rather than a duty.
It's not a sports car, and doesn't respond to the swift twisties like a smaller car would, but it has it's place in the cosmic scheme of urban and long distance travel.Nov 09, 2008

This Car is amazing. I doesnt look like it would win a race but when were out on the bolvavard and we start racing people it wins. It has all tinted windows because( a known fact) This car was a drug dealers car and when i got it the seats and parts of the car that arnt normally riped up were... It was not the most expencive car but i worked for it. I love it so much any one in there right mind would love this car.Jul 28, 2008

The 2000 Toyota Avalon that I drive we bought for about 10 grand four years, and has not needed any major engine work on it and it has just under 170,000 miles. THis Car has been notihing but good.Apr 20, 2008

I will probably be a toyota driver until someone shows me a better car. back seat is huge, trunk handles everything i put into it and the pass through is the best idea in any car. leather upholstery is rugged and well sewn. best engine i've driven. i have 140k and it's just getting broken in. instrumentation is great. what else can i say?

2000 avalon electronics/ AC and windows not working after alternator replacement. The car starts with new alternator in it but I cannot roll down the windows, turn on the A/C, or lock the car using the key... I can start it, the headlights work, the power locks let me unlock the car. When I put a voltmeter on the battery with the car off it shows 11.75 volts (what it was prior to changing the alternator) and with the car running it shows less at 11.54 volts. I have looked at the interior fuses, tried disconnecting the battery again. Nothing seems to work. Please help.

Ran hot,cut it off quickly now won't start
Water pump went out,started streaming, noticed it was reading hot on gauge,pulled off road and cut it off. Let it cool down and input water in it. Now it won't start,cranks good but sounds like it's not firing. Is there a safety to prevent it from starting or something?
