Good For Short Drives, Anything Out Of City Limits Try To Avoid Until 100% Positive. — The car was great until an ice storm hit my city in 2013. I Slid into a curb going about 20mph turning and messed up my allignments. I've gotten two allignments but the handling is still funky. I've had problems with the clutch before, but it turned out to just be wear and tear on my master and slave cylinders, those are being replaced this Friday (12/26). Other than that, and sometimes having a rough time getting it into reverse, it's a decent car that is reliable enough to get from point a to point b.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great AC and Heating

Cons: Handling is very funky.
Front tire rubs a little.
Sometimes has a problem going into reverse.

Still Lovin My Civic — Only had 2 things go wrong on this car in 14 years, the ignition module and the exhaust manifold. Apparently the manifold is faulty on these cars. The ignition module, according to the mechanic, may fail any time or not at all, made it 6 years or so. Other than that, it's been ridiculously reliable, economical and fun to drive. I chose the transmission and everything, but have since decided I should have at least got the EX with a manual since I developed a greater need for acceleration and would have liked the OEM sunroof.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very economical, reliable and fun to drive on curves.

Cons: Flawed exhaust manifold, could use more power for my taste.

Great Car! — This car handles great and costs next to nothing to operate! You Can not go wrong when you own a Honda. The fuel economy is excellent. The most dependable car i have ever owned. Too bad they don't make a full size pickup.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It's a Honda

Cons: Small for a 300# man

King Of The Road In Therm Of Realiability. — One of the most coveted cars on the road. I remember very first Civic in North America. It was far from good. And today one of the most real liable vehicles. In terms of economy, maintenances, resale and many more features like up till' year 2000, four wheel double wish bone independent suspension. I love car handling on double S curves roads. We have 2000 Civic hatchback one of last year in making such great suspension system. I have rebuilt it from ground-up. It was wrecked right off, all right. It was Branded vehicles. Parts are cheap. I believe that its better buying used parts from wrecker yard than rebuilt ones from store. I would highly recommend buying this car.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: One of best cars we ever have. Very cheap on maintenance, fuel phenomenal. This is our third Civic since 1989. Do al maintenance by my self.

Cons: Rear seats are bit cramped. But on the other hand you cant have it all in one package

Fuel Efficient And Always Reliable. — The 2000 Honda Civic LX is a very solid car. It offers great value and reliability even in its older age. The appearance is attractive and still contemporary, appealing to the younger generation of folks. With it's popular 4 cylinder engine, this Civic model puts out 106 horse at 6200 rpm and 103 ft. lbs. of torque at 4500 rpm. This is a weak car for anyone that drives to actually get somewhere. In other words, it is great for light-footed women and your grandma's Sunday drive to church. For me, fuel efficiency has been a huge factor and it's the only way I can tolerate driving it. I would love me some more power, but I must say the acceleration has a quick response and the engine noise to go with can make your friends jump. Interior noise gains a lot from the engine, but from a teenager's mind it hits the spot. A very popular car to rebuild and customize, which I would recommend. Don't hesitate on this Honda.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great fuel economy, 32 city, 37 highway. extremely reliable car. great engine sound for such a small car. good looks even for an aging car. value is probably the best thing about this car, and every Honda product.

Cons: A pretty weak 4-cylinder. 106 hp that feels like 90 hp when the A/Cs in full power. headroom and space could be a problem for larger people. It doesn't offer much as far as accessories go.

Great First Car — Love Suspension. Hate 4th Gear..... the engine is really good but underpowerd compared to todays caqrs. the breaks are good and cornering is great i can pull off a regular left turn at 45-50MPH in my lane. when 4th gear kickes in the car gets really slow so i keep it on D3....cars top speed is about 135MPH...only says 120 on the dash

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: quick suspension great MPG

Cons: Small interior Space

Great Long Lasting Plain Car — Like- Easy/somewhat fun to drive, good on gas, nice blue color, fairly good acceleration, easy to find parts for, somewhat large trunk, long lasting, durable Dislike- automatic transmission = shifts at odd points sometimes, 4 cylinders, dents easy, slightly underpowered

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: affordable, easy to find parts for

Cons: plain, underpowered

Hothatch — Very nice and cheap to drive street racer! Great handling and traction, a lot of power for such a light car. No breakdowns or repairs needed, just pour petrol and change oil and filters once for a while and you'll be fine.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: 160BHP, revs up to 8,2k, great traction and handling

Cons: nothing :)
